Since you've never heard of the Kai release, read the following from the Illusionary Arts Thread in the Bio Rules Section.

Altering the balance between physical and spiritual energies in your chakra by disturbing your spiritual energy. This is done by your sheer will power. Its done by forcefully creating a surge of chakra in your body by spiking your spiritual energy through will power alone, forcing yourself to mold and channel your chakra in a way that will either halt the chakra flow or disturb it. It can be done in 2 ways: through the cannon release technique known as Kai or through techniques that produce a high surge of chakra on your chakra flow.

-In the case of Kai, it breaks genjutsu in a direct proportion to the chakra spent to perform it. This means one needs to spend the same amount of chakra spent to produce the illusion. It counts as a jutsu from the jutsu count, requires 1 handseal and can only be used once per turn. The disruption does not break inheritly passive techniques, namely Walking on Water or Tree Climbing. Some self induced illusions can act as Kai or be designed to act as Kai.
So read through this and then write something that convinces me you understand what Kai Release is.

Yes, that's the one.

( Genjutsu: Kai ) - Illusion Technique: Release
Rank: C-S
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 15-40
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user does one hand seal to focus and then proceeds to disturb his chakra flow by forcefully stopping it momentarily and then "spiking" his spiritual energy, unbalancing his chakra. This dispels any genjutsu set upon the user except MS Eye Techniques, Paralysis-like Genjutsu and Demonic Illusion: Toad Confrontation Chant. The effectiveness of this technique is dependent upon the skill of the user. A Jounin rank ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to C-rank. An S-class ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to B-rank. A Sannin rank ninja can dispel Genjutsu up to A-rank. A Sage rank user can dispel Genjutsu up to S-Rank. The user may use this technique through physical contact on others to dispel them from Genjutsu. The technique can only be used once per turn and the user still needs to fully follow the logic as to why he figured out it was an illusion.

So at your current rank, you can only dispel genjutsu up to A-rank using the Kai release method. Also remember that you need to be able to move in order to use Kai release, meaning any genjutsu that immobilises you (prevents you from moving) will prevent you from using Kai.

See, what you just typed there... I barely managed to understand it. Could you please, please proof-read what you type before replying... please? It makes it easier for the both of us.

So I'm going to change things up here, I'm going to let you read the jutsu and analyse it for me. By analyse, I want you to tell me what the jutsu it doing to your opponent, what senses it is affecting, how useful this is in battle, ways to counter it and anything else you feel like adding to your analysis. I'll then build on what you reply and go from there... which is why at this stage, I particularly need you to write clearly and proof read what you type before posting, otherwise we'll be stuck in place for a while.

Anyway, so here is the first jutsu.

( Kori Shinchū no Jutsu ) - Sly Mind Affect Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion on the opponent that makes them believe they are travelling in a straight line, when instead they are moving in circles. This is only effective on moving opponents. If the opponent travels in the circle for hours, they will be exhausted.

Just a few notes, it only effects moving targets meaning they already have to be moving when you cast this genjutsu.

Explain what you mean by "using your massive chakra to cancel it"? If you mean that having a jinchuuriki bio means that you're immune to genjutsu, then yes that kinda works but simply you wont be affected by the genjutsu.

However, until you have the Jinchuuriki Gaara, you'll still need to use Pain or Kai release as well as properly deduce you are in a genjutsu.

Your questions is very difficult to decipher, especially since it comes across as one long sentence and that you ended it with the word "also".

Anyway, if you know someone is immune to genjutsu, like a Jinchuuriki bio or Uchiha, then it's best not to use genjutsu. Other than that, or if you've battled them before, there is no way of knowing if they are good at breaking genjutsu.

Sorry for the delay... things in RL are... all over the place right now.

( Genjutsu: Jinmon ) - Illusion Technique: Interrogation
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost:15
Damage Points:30
Description: The user of this technique, upon casting on a stationary opponent with physical contact with them, is able to convince the enemy to give away information. However, this will only work on ninja two ranks lower and below than the caster.

This is a pretty useless jutsu and only has applications in the NW. Even then, it's very hard to use and requires your target to remain immobile, possibly via some other jutsu. Just ask any questions you have on this jutsu.

( Genjutsu: Jigoku Gouka ) - Illusion Technique: Hell Fire
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage Points:N/A
Description: The user casts an illusion where the opponent sees a huge ball of fire descending from the sky and enveloping its target.

For this jutsu, since the description is straight forward... I want you to tell me: What type of genjutsu this is, when the genjutsu is finished, how you could use this to your advantage (combinations etc) and how you might deduce this is a genjutsu.

*tags shinta* I'll finish this one up for you buddy.
------------------
Okay, I normally do RP training, but I'm making an exception. I want to make sure you really understand these techs as well as genjutsu overall. As my Sensei who specialized in gen once taught me, casting regular genjutsu is not hard since you just interfere with your opponents chakra by inserting your own. This allows you to create an illusion (or fake reality). Basically the things they see aren't real, but in some cases they can feel real, but their is usually a way to tell you are under the effects of an illusion. So we will focus on breaking out of a genjutsu. This is the same lesson I went through with Mcrazor. We're going to do the last two again.

Okay this is a gen that actually requires that you be in contact with your opponent. This only works on those who are stationary, and only if they are two ranks lower than you. I don't see this being used often, and would probably be very difficult to pull off as you would have to restrain the enemy. As Shinta said earlier, just ask clear questions you have on this jutsu.

Okay so this is where one casts an illusion where the enemy sees a huge ball of fire suddenly descending toward them. It eventually envelopes the target and may be able to distract the enemy long enough to deliver a decisive blow. Take note that this jutsu does not do any damage. What type of genjutsu is this? If this was used on you, how might you figure out that this is a genjutsu if you didn't have Doujutsu, or Sensory?

Question is in bold. Please take your time responding/answering and check your wording so I can understand it. Give this some thought, and don't give up if you cant come up with an answer right away.

DETOUR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! These are how you break out of genjutsu
an be done in 3 basic ways:

1- Altering the balance between physical and spiritual energies in your chakra by disturbing your physical energy. This is done by producing pain. Pain comes from the body and thus it makes your physical energy fluctuate by "shocking" your body. Because of this fluctuation, your chakra flow experiences a spike. This spike is a disturbance that will dispel other disturbances present in your chakra by unbalacing its flow andreseting it to its normal flow. The higher the pain, the bigger the spike. The more resistant or accostumed to pain your bio is, the less effect this has. Kaguya bios for example have a very high tolerance to pain, making them unsuited for this release method. While genjutsu can mimic pain or any other sensation, it will always pale against real sensations. While Pain is subjective, certain guidelines can be followed.

 • D Rank Genjutsu: Chipping a Finger (like one does as he bites to draw blood for a Summoning Jutsu)
 • C Rank Genjutsu: Low level Physical Attacks, Bitting a chunk of your Cheek
 • B Rank Genjutsu: Low ranked Taijutsu/Freestyle
 • A Rank Genjutsu: High ranked Taijutsu, Stabbing Yourself in minor muscle, Cutting yourself, Breaking Smaller bones, Low level Burning/Voltage, Painful Cold
 • S Rank Genjutsu: EIG/Sage level Taijutsu, Breaking Bones, Deep Stabs or cuts, Medium Voltage/Burning, Extreme Painful Cold, Bitting your tongue off
2- Altering the balance between physical and spiritual energies in your chakra by disturbing your spiritual energy.

You learned this earlier.

When we consider high chakra surges as a form of release, you need to have a technique that is at least 1 rank higher than the genjutsu set upon you for the case of elemental or specialized techinques (like Gentle Fist), or 2 ranks for the case of raw chakra techniques. An example of this is Raiton: Chidori Nagashi, an A-Rank full body technique that requires no hand seal and can dispel up to B-Rank Genjutsu set upon you. The principle is that as these techniques, since they require you to release a large amount of chakra from all or most of your tenketsu at once in a less focused manner, will, when one uses enough chakra, overcome the fluctuation set on the chakra flow, reseting it to its normal flow. Because this method needs one to overpower the fluctuation set on the chakra flow, you need to spend more chakra than what was used to induce the illusion. However, not all chakra burst-type techniques fall under this rule because of their own specific characteristics. An example is the opening of one of the Eight Inner Gates. Upon opening, the sudden release of chakra disturbs any genjutsu affecting you.

Altering your chakra flow through the introduction of foreign chakra or energies. This can be done by an ally who is capable of using the chakra transfer technique or by entering, for example, sage mode or being a jinchuriki in control of your bijuu or releasing a Curse Mark. The reasoning is that as foreign chakra enters your system or another energy (natural energy), your chakra flow becomes altered and unbalanced and thus releases the genjutsu. This enables the release of any Genjutsu except Mangekyo Sharingan grade Genjutsu.

All of these methods produce a reset-like effect on your chakra flow, making it return to normal and dispelling the Genjutsu. However, one most not forget that for a release to be valid, it ALWAYS needs to be partnered with a logical and reasonable explanation of how, from your bio's RP perspective, you figured out it was a Genjutsu/Illusion and thus felt the need to release from it. Releasing from it by "luck" or "because i know its a genjutsu" without stating the why isn't valid.

Now this is not hard to do, bur you can't break out of genjutsu if you don't know how to percieve (or realize) that you're in one. So I wanted to know how you would figure out that the fireball was not real, and what type of genjutsu it is. I'll help you out on this one so we can do the rest. I might have to give you some basics on gen that will help you in this training. Ask yourself what senses are being effected by this gen, and whether or not you're restircted. This gen is purely visual. It is only affecting what you see. The fireball does not do any damage, and will only block your sight, or make you distracted so I'd say this is a visual genjutsu. You would know this is a genjutsu due to the fact that no heat would be emitted from the illusion. Are you starting to understand. 0_0......a lot of info.......

Exactly! Mcrazor taught me how to break down a genjutsu in order to get out of it. Metgaming (using knowledge of something you know out of character to help you in character) is not allowed. So, you know that your character is in a genjutsu, but its all about how to get out of it. Especially in your case, since you have a Gaara bio you won't have the privledge to use doujutsu, or chakra sensing, but if you're confident in breaking a genjutsu down, and explaining how you realize you're in a genjutsu, and then breaking out of it. You will be fine.

Now most of the time it can be something obvious that lets you know its a genjutsu, or maybe it something a bit more subtle. Try to focus on your 5 senses. Like the last jutsu we did...the fire was shown to you, but it did not have any heat. So it effected your sight, but your sense of touch/feel was telling you that this is not fire. This method will help you with alot of genjutsu.

( Genjutsu: Kasumi no Jutsu ) - Illusion Technique: Mist Technique
Rank: C
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Mid
Chakra cost: 15
Damage points: N/A
Description: The user creates an illusionary clone that charges towards the enemy, jumps, then explodes in a cloud of cherry blossom petals which results in confusing the opponent and obscuring their vision, leaving them open for attack.

Okay now this one is a jutsu where the enemy creates a illusionary clone. It is not real. It jumps then explodes in front of you (none damaging) into a cloud os petals. Obscuring your vision. This is a visual genjutsu that is trying to obsucre your view of the enemy. How might you figure out this is a genjutsu?

( Kasunda Genjutsu ) - Illusionary Arts: Hazy Illusion
Type: Supplementary/Offensive
Rank: C
Range: Short - Mid
Chakra Cost: 15
Damage: N/A
Description: This is a simple and not to difficult to discern genjutsu. The user places the target in an illusion where they see the world around them heavily distorted, preventing the target from discerning his surroundings while within the illusion. The technique also gives the impression of the target sinking in quicksand and thus acts as a means to immobilize them slowly.

Okay this isn't hard to figure out. You start to see the world distort. This is not the same as your vision getting blurry, but imagine the world around you suddenly starts to twist, contort like its been placed in a fun house mirror. This was what I meant earlier by the word obvious. Seeing the world suddenly do this for no reason at all kinda hints at a genjutsu. Now this has a second part which leads into the other type of genjutsu. Restrictive. Restrictive genjutsu restricts your movements in some form or fashion. Since it makes you feel as if you are sinking fairly slowly, you would be unable to move your lower extremities because you believe this to be true. No need to say how to break out of this one as I just wanted to teach you about restrictive jutsu, and show you how an obvious gen can be perceived.

Okay real quick I think you misunderstood me. I don't want you to break out of it, since that is fairly easy. I want you to explain how you know it is a genjutsu. I mentioned the 5 senses but you can't channel chakra into you senses, sorry if I was unclear about that. I am a failure. xD.

What I want you to use are your senses (sight, touch, smell, taste, hearing) senses to try and explain how you can figure out this is a genjutsu. Basically, you compare genjutsu to reality. Now look at the first one. The user creates a clone that goes toward you. It then explodes into cherry blossoms. You see cherry blossoms, but do you hear the sounds of the blossoming flowers scattering in the wind? Can you smell them? Since this is just an illusion, you can't hear or smell the storm of cherry blossoms so that helps you know you are in a genjutsu.

The steps of breaking out of jutsu
1. Determining you are in a genjutsu
2. and then dispelling the jutsu.

1. is the most important part. If you can't explain how you know you are in a genjutsu, then you will lose every time.

So again, In this training I want you to explain to me how you figure out you are in a genjutsu. No chakra is needed, and you don't have to break out of it. Just tell me how you know it is a genjutsu. For some techniques I might ask additional things, but for now that is all I want. Did I communicate this clearly???? :hi:

EXAMPLE-I'll use this last one we did to show you what I mean.

My thought process when trying to determine if I am in a genjutsu

Is something weird?: Before anything, something might be so obvious that you don't need to use my 5 senses method. Maybe a dragon appeared out of nowhere, maybe you are suddenly thrown into a volcano without warning. Maybe you just become unable to move without any hint of a jutsu. Somethings are so weird that they just seem like a genjutsu, but to be on the safe side you can always use this.

Sight: (How does it look? Does it look strange?):
The last jutsu we did doesn't look too strange. A clone is made, but that is something we see all the time. It jumps and explodes into cherry blossoms. This is a little new, but not really strange enough for me to think this is a jutsu.

Smell:
This is just a visual illusion, so the cherry blossoms have no scent. That is pretty strange.

Sound:
An explosion of cherry blossoms should have a sound. As they swarm around me, the sound of them rubbing against each other, or blowing through the wind should be present. Since I can't hear that then I can assume this might be a genjutsu.

Touch:
(How does it feel. Does this feel real?)

Taste: This isn't used much, but just in case...you might taste something. xD Don't worry about this too much.

After figuring out that is a genjutsu, I can break out of it. Any questions?
