History:
Born in the Kirigakure as a member of Hozuki clan yet an orphan, Rakurai possessed abnormal talent for water element. With such talent, that some even considered to be disturbing, he quickly started training and, by the age of nine, he was well versed in use of water element lacking only sufficient chakra for performing high-level techniques. Then, First Shinobi World War started... Not yet ten years old, he set off along with his teammates into Konohagakure on a reconnaissance mission. It was considered a zero-risk mission as his squad consisted of a jounin, kunoichi and another, 12 years old kunoichi in training thus making a perfect disguise of a family running from war into the safety of village. Unfortunately for them, a spy betrayed them and they were caught by Root members (a similar organization as that of Danzou, but different and older). His teammates were tortured to death right before his eyes and he managed to escape only due to his quick wits and Hydrification Technique killing one and injuring two Root members in the process. On dead run from village he bumped into Tobirama just coming back from mission. Immediately jumping to conclusion that Tobirama is just another enemy, he drew a kunai he stole from Root member and charged on Tobirama only to stumble and fall unconscious from exhaustion. When he woke up he could smell the faint scent of pomfrites and scrambled eggs opposed to smell of torture chamber's blood he was expecting. As he carefully got up, he checked on his surrounding noting the windows, door, pealing knife on the night-table beside him and ceramic mug - suitable for throwing he thought. Just as he shaped up his escape plan Tobirama noticed Rakurai was up and called out to him with soft voice: "May your mind be clear from blinding mists, may your technique stay fluid like a river, may your body overwhelm the opponent like a tidal wave." Noticing the elements of water in these words he quickly took liking to Tobirama and few days after that his trust thus deciding to stay in Konohagakure. Long story short, Tobirama started to train Rakurai and accomplished a lot in four years of training which was interrupted by Tobirama's death. After hearing the news he changed his name to Shingintai as Tobirama's favorite words were: "Mind - technique - body" (心・技・体, Shin - gi - tai).

Although 56, Shingintai still has the looks of 25 years old man. Allegedly, he managed to preserve them with the help of Hydrification Technique.
- Due to his upbringing by Kirigakure's water element masters and Tobirama Senju (who taught him how to 'compress' hand seals needed for jutsus like Water Dragon Bullet into more useable form) he is capable of doing all water jutsus with just one hand seal and without body of water nearby.
