I like Danzo but he is obviously one of the most hated characters in Naruto.

Glad he has a fan! Everyone is so anti Danzo. Yet plenty of Itachi Madara Oro etc fans.

I've always been a fan of your threads, and this one is no exception. Definitely an interesting perspective on Danzō's character.

Oh, was he? Like I said, I had kind of written off Danzo and am probably not remembering things too well from the Sasuke fight. Sorry about that, honest mistake on my part. You're right, though, the Madara quote is very fitting... and, come to think of it, Hiruzen and Danzo's relationship is a little like Hashirama and Madara's.

Yeah that feels like years ago. I miss the manga, especially when it was that good. I was doing some reading for this thread when I came across it again. His death was definitely heroic and sad.

Danzō is a very great, very misunderstood character. He was selfish, but everything he did was in fact for Konoha and for the ninja world. He did great and terrible things. Attempting to kill off the early Akatsuki being terrible for example, and the Uchiha Massacre being great in its stopping of a horribly stupid threat to Konoha while maintaining the Uchiha name.

Don't be so black and white. This is fiction. Hardly anyone in NV is morally 100% upright. A lot of them are a product of the shinobi system. Itachi and Oro are prime examples.

You speak sense dude. It's silly when you consider how universally hated danzo is. ... While everyone loves Nagato etc
