Shikidai Nara is a "Nara" Prodigy

Everyone is a prodigy the next gen is so OP. Himawari defeats the hokage, Boruto use Chisengan, Sarada is as strong as her mom was in the war arc, and Shikidai is suppose to be smarter than his dad.

I'd be excited if he wasn't such a carbon copy of Shikamaru. I mean... he literally looks, dresses and acts like him and has the same exact technique and fighting style. I could've dealt with the looks, dressing and techniques but him acting exactly like Shikamaru is what bores me.

It was never actually confirmed outside of the trailer, people just guessed.

What makes is worse is that he had an entire poster relating him with the Lightning element. FFS

So him having lightning was just a troll it would've fit well with him, and made him less of a Naruto clone... But this is making it seem more and more like he's a Naruto clone

Word. The only thing that makes him unique is:

Personality/Goal wise
Design wise (I mean the clothes/style)
He learns Itachi's style Shuriken Jutsu
and has Gentle Fist Taijutsu.

His Futon: Rasengan is nothing like FRS though, it just vanishes and hits the target after a period of time. So he's unique in that area, I mean he might have his father's abilities, and his mothers, but at least they aren't entirely generic and copy and pastes.

The biggest problem with Boruto is that he has the natural talent, he just doesn't put the effort in at all. He probably has this self assesrtion of himself, talks big game, and has half the skill to back it up. The problem there is that natural talent can only take you so far, Rock Lee proved that hard work can rival Genius.

Boruto half assess his training with Sasuke, and tells him that only an Uchiha like him, could pull off something like this, and just gives up on learning it. The next day he learns how to ricochet his shurikens exactly the way Sasuke told him. He learned how to curve them as well
