A location such as Blood Prison was not confirmed to not exist in the main story so it being part of the novel doesn't contradict any manga facts thus you can't say it is a contradiction from canon. Inconsistencies are bound to happen when the main author did not write them. They are just supposed to be fillers on pages.
The movie however was stated to not be canon.
