So, Shikamaru can use only his intelligence, but Sasuke can use Sharingan, but only to see what is Shikamaru's next move. (ONLY NEXT MOVE, HE CAN"T SEE THE MOVE AFTER THE NEXT MOVE)


Shikamaru knows Sasuke uses Sharingan.

This thread is a perfect example of how a lot of people don't read a thread past it's title.

Shikamaru would win in a game of chess. Here's my reasoning for this:

Shikamaru knows that Sasuke is using the Sharingan to see his next move. Honestly Sharingan is useless to Sasuke in this situation if he can only see one move ahead with it. When playing chess the opponents are supposed to be thinking several moves ahead of their opponent. Shikamaru's intellect allows him to do that. With Shikamaru knowing of Sasuke's Sharingan, he could think of a method that to lure Sasuke into a trap, which will involve several moves. Shikamaru will be expecting Sasuke to counter his moves so Shikamaru would use his turns to make Sasuke's counters usless and lure him closer and closer. By the time Sasuke sees the true intent of Shika's plans, there will be no way to defend against it because Shika has taken out all of Sasuke's resources.

In fighting terms this would be how it goes: Shikamaru uses strategies to drain Sasuke of his chakra (his strongest peices on the cheess board) and by the time Sasuke realizes what Shika's doing, he'll be out of chakra and Shika will capture him and defeat him. This obviously wouldn't be how it would play out in a fight seeing as Shikamaru doesn't have the power enough to make such things happen, but in chess where there power is spread evenly to each player, Shikamaru wins with superior intellect.

I see Sasuke as putting up a descent fight (chess game) with Shikamaru though.
