Just because Deidara is a long range fighter doesn't mean Shikamaru loses.

Tayuya was a long ranged fighter as well but Shikamaru outsmarted the shit out of her. He could do the same to Deidara. I wouldn't count Shikamaru out so quickly.

Deidara took on team guy in a taijutsu battle without having arms and he beat the kazekage gaara which is real impressive and he would´ve killed sasuke but 2 things ****ed him up in this battle.

1.Sasukes sharingan and curse mark with orochimarus powers were the main things that kept him alive, take out even one of those things from him and he´s dead-man.

2.He was traumaticed by itachis sharingan so when he saw sasukes sharingan, it brought up some inner demons which made him go nuts and blow himself up.

My point:Shikamaru doesn´t stand a chance and i really hope deidara was alive, he was 1 of my favorites and i really didn´t like how he got beaten in the war by ****in Kankurou!

lol shikamaru has brains and deidara has "art" but then again sasuke killed deidara and quite ovbiously sasuke is stronger than shikamaru...but if shikamaru had the same anger that he did when he killed hidan then it would probably be a draw. just tell me if you dont get i tried to make it as simple as possible. xd

Nope, Deidara proved himself to be one of the best strategists in manga. Hes not as good as Itachi, but his very bright in battle. Shikamaru managed to defeat Hidan only beucase he prepared whole strategy earlier, not to mention about battlefield. Deidara is waaaaay more intelligent than Hidan, and waaaaay more powerful, in a fair battle Shikamaru dont stand a chance.

I'll agree that Deidara is a good strategist. His battle with Gaara proved as much. But I still wouldn't put Shikamaru down just yet
