Shikaku's Plan? Naruto?

So in chapter 540, Shikaku was thinking about a plan to distinguish between Alliance soldiers and Zetsu copies. I think one possibility is for Naruto to come into battle and help detect the Zetsu clones, since Naruto can now sense the evil, like he did with Kisame morphed inside Samehada a number of chapters ago. Any thoughts?

That's certainly plausible, but I was actually thinking Kiba and some of the other members of his clan could sniff out the Zetsu clones.

Yeah looks like a good idea, seems like wasting Naruto's potential to me- killing those weak clones, but then again they can do alot of damage to the alliance.

Anyone notice that he had a thought Katsuyu when he was thinking?

My guess is he's going to make everyone in the alliance carry a katsuyu with them at all times, kind of like how everyone had one with them when the leaf was attacked by Pain

am ur forgetting one simple thing that katsuyu was looking right at shikaku! katsuyu is most likely the only summon that can tell the difference. its not like kiba can go a sniff 40,000 ninjas dats dumb. katsuyu on the other hand can split up into that many slugs i bet! most likely its katsuyu! and shikaku dont even know of naruto new powers yet so i dont see how he could be thinking of naruto!

BUt Shikaku and most of the Ninja world are unaware that Naruto has managed to gain control of the Kyuubi's power, and they also wouldn't know the powers that he has unlocked by getting the Kyuubi's power. How wll he make a plan without knowing Naruto's new powers?

I dunno. Its not a waste of Naruto's talent to seek out the Zetsu. It won't require much effort and for him it would be easy. Who else is able to detect a Zetsu clone? It is supposed to be almost perfect clone. This is a great way for Naruto to show what he is capable of without even needing to fight.

naruto's new found powers seem to be the best possible answer to this situation with the zetsu's so I hope we get something like that comùing up.

and about katsuyu, the pannel your talking about on page 14, it may look like that's what he's thinking about but in fact it is not, she is just on his desk, and the proof is a couple of pages befor that page, on page 12 of this chapter we already see katsuyu sitting on the desk. and if I'm not mistaken it's the first time we see her during this war. in my oppinion tsunade summond katsuyu right befor she and the raikage left to intercept Bee and naruto, and she did this with communication in mind, so that there is always a direct line of communication between them and the HQ.

Kishi couldn't have made it more obvious..... just like how the imposter Neji was obviously a Zetsu clone.

While I agree with you that Kiba can't sniff out Zetsu clones, keep in mind that Kiba never actually encountered the Neji-Zetsu clone. Kishi made it clear in this last chapter that the Neji that collapsed from exhaustion never actually left the battlefield. Instead, he stubbornly stayed put but took a rest instead. Kishi simply melded Neji's collapse with the timing of Zetsu's arrival to the camp to fool us for a single chapter. No one in the camp was aware that the real Neji needed aid and even Zetsu might not have known that Neji was close to collapse. The whole seen was made to be suspenseful.

That will be a nice plan. But, I think the slug will be able to alert the shinobies only when they are already about to be attacked since I'm not sure if it can sense intent beforehand.

To filter out the zetsus who have already infiltrated the camp I think they should merge Slugs capability with Naruto's Rikodu mode's ability to sense presense of evil within..

I told the same thing to you- slugs can be used to communicate faster and keep intel/relay information but they need Rikodu mode to differentiate between good and evil clone since so far manga hasn't told us that Katsuya has this ability. If they can be devided in so many pieces, all they can do is too watch over and Tsunade would be draining her chakra with it.

You said it was a waste of chakra of Naruto and I still think that Naruto would have to do it. Maybe it's time Naruto take some training from Tsunade and learn to store chakra in a seal like her..
