Shikaku vs Shikamaru

I know we really haven't seen alot from Shikaku, but he DOES have mastery over the Nara clan special abilities. He can beat Shikamaru in shogi. Does that necessarily mean that he is a better strategist than Shikamaru?

Since Shikaku is the head of the clan right now I would assume that he would be the strongest. I feel like Shikamaru will surpass him in due time though. Shikaku is probably smarter and has way more experience. So Shikaku would win if they fought or what not.

The fact that Shikaku can beat Shikamaru at shogi would heavily imply that he is smarter than him. On top of that he's the head of the Nara clan which means he has full knowledge of the clans abilities. Likely ones that Shikamaru (or us) hasn't even seen before.
