Less to do with chakra reserves and more to do with chakra quality, Sasuke had the Sage's chakra so was on equal ground in terms of dojutsu strength.

He also had a Rinnegan to add to his MS but that wouldn't have changed a thing since the Byakugan's main feat is suppressing chakra. No chakra = no MS or Rinnegan feats. Only a Jinchuuriki has shown to be immune to the dojutsu's effects.


Oh, and now imagine if Neji had Hamura's chakra since we are making hypotheticals.

Doesn't matter she proved the Byakugan has as much potential as the other dojutsu if the user's chakra is strong enough. The manga's theme is Yin = Yang that would mean Hamura = Hagoromo and therefore Byakugan = Rinnegan/Sharingan
