Honestly, Byakugan wasn't even portrayed to be as impressive in Part 1.
You have to take into account that with an undeveloped Sharingan, it still enabled Sasuke to reach a level around Neji's level within a very short period of time and was a Dojutsu that Orochimaru wanted to seize from Sasuke despite his being undeveloped. Even the Akatsuki feared what would happen if Orochimaru had obtained the Sharingan.
Byakugan is a joke compared to the Sharingan. Kaguya's is an exception for obvious reasons.
