[Spoilers] Sharingan types = different powers

Alright.. I know this isn't the first thread about this - but since the *********** translation is now out, and doesn't translate it as "streight comma", I thought I would make yet another thread

So, what I understood from this page

is that the different types of MS determines where your powers excel.


So if we look at Sasukes and Izunas MS, we can see both of them are kinda streight in their design

Now - we know Sasuke is pretty fast, and even though it hasn't been confirmed that Izuna was fast aswell - based on this theory, it would make sense that if he were



Now, Itachi and Madara (and Obito - but that isn't important atm), both got a "swirly" tomoe design

so perhaps this indicated they are the more "technique based" type of MS.



Now if this is correct, there might be several other types of MS. So if you look at Shisui's MS, it's very different from the other designs.

It's quite alot more "squared" and "bulky" - so perhaps this indicated that it's a genjutsu based MS - or something similar Now the only thing about this, is that then perhaps Itachi's MS should have a design like this aswell, because of his Tsukuyomi.. But as I stated earlier.. It might not determine what powers you're capable of using - but just what core abilities are more powerfull than the others

Aye... It would be kinda cool But I'm at work ATM, so I can't just download the episode and analyze it hehe.. But since those characters isn't canon - I'm not sure this theory applies to them

straight swirl... what i imagined was when i read that... sasuke's 3 tomoe goes around circling the center.. like an atom and electron...
it revolves movement.. which means sasuke is like a 'battle type' uchiha,go around slashing and kicking.. which what madara said 'your movement is fluid'..

i was thinking what if the madara's and itachi sharingan were time based bc in the fight with madara and the first it showed that he could rewind time and itachi can use u know

This doesnt make sense to a certain extent:

Itachi is more technique based, Sasuke is more "Fast?" based, and yet they have the Same MS abilities. But here is the question. You are calling Itachi (and Shishui) technique based on the fact they are primarily Genjutsu users (As far as their genjutsu goes). But you also forget that Shishui was also extremely fast, nicknamed Shishui of the body flicker. Perhaps this eludes to the fact that Shishui's Sharingan has a straight style as well as a curve style to it.

But the main thing I have against this is this:

I can accept that the curve style can be technique based Sharingans, but the mistake comes in when we say the straight style = faster ninja. It does feel correct because quickness and technique are too far extremes, not to mention quickness is more of a bodily trait as oppose to a physical trait.

I believe that the "straight" coma style Sharingans refers more to the eyes ability to read movements (Much like when Sasuke was fighting Naruto at the valley of end and upon reaching his 2nd comma he was able to read Naruto's movements better).

In conclusion:

- Straight Comma's are better at reading movements and copying ninjutsu etc..
- Curved Comma's are are not as good as reading movements but have stronger MS abilities and Stamina when using MS abilities.

Agreed. Straight is a bad translation, the true meaning behind the straight comma is 'sharp eye', better developed, more sensitive.
