Sound genjutsu is more effective because you cannot really avoid it unless you bring ear plugs with you. Thats the advantage sound genjutsu has.

The one that literally made me facepalm irl is when people claim neither sasuke or itachi can break the sound genjutsu if it was a 1 vs 1 situation because they used each others ability to get out of it. Forgetting that its not only a team effort that genjutsu has never been stated to be unbreakable and infact, follows the same laws in respect to the ability to cancel out genjutsu and shikamaru demonstrated one of these laws which is to cause pain to himself when he broke his finger :sy:

i tried to prove my point of view : so again : basically Sharingan gives its user the advantage to see reality, so if the sound gen user looked in the sharingan user's eye they will be trapped in the sharingan's visual genJustu.

Let me ask a question : how did Itachi was able to use Genjutsu on Kurenai ? because his sharingan can see through the genjutsu and when they had the eye contact : itaachi Got her.

so I din't deny it : sharingan is weak against Sound gen : Only In one case : that the sound gen user is in the sharingan user's back : and the attack has to be a long ranged one so he can avoid getting caught in the sharingan's field of vision. U_U

Unless you can find a way to physically hurt yourself whilst trapped in Sound Genjutsu then its almost impossible for you to break free. Though the question to be asked is "how can you move when you are trapped physically in reality?"

The only reason Shikamaru was able to get out of the Sound Genjutsu was because he was the perfect opponent due to his shadow ability.

Now unless you have an external power ability that allows you to get things done whilst being physically disabled then you are in deep trouble I'm afraid.


Many have stated that Itachi and Sasuke only got out of the genjutsu is because they used visual genjutsu on each other to free themselves which is entirely true. If you notice they were already facing at each other while Kabuto's sound genjutsu was travelling. So no they didnt turn their heads.

Now it is debatable whether Itachi or Sasuke could've done the same thing as Shikamaru did by hurting oneself by manipulating Susano but then realised something upon closer inspection. Notice how once the two brothers were caught, their Susano was slowly depleting, meaning they couldnt control their chakra to maintian that shield of Susano around them due to the paralysis effect.

At this point they still have the Susano activated.

I agree and your right, but I think it is in most cases were one can cause pain to break illusions. In Shikamaru's case, he was able to with his Clan Technique, Shadow Imitation. However, Since Itachi and Sasuke was caught into a Paralyze Sound Genjutsu, if not mistaken, it took the two to cancel the Genjutsu through Visual Dispel Technique (or Doujutsu via Sharingan). Reason they were able is because the range, but if they were not close enough then it could have been the end for both of them.

First of all im still sceptical about itachi telling sasuke to look into his eyes. I believe he basically told him everything in that tsukuyomi and that was the reason why he told sasuke to look into his eyes. Obviously we have to wait and see but thats the reason why itachi demanded what he did. Also note that, neither brothers were worried even in that genjutsu, so know i dont believe in a 1 vs 1 fight it would decide the fight.

Obviously its a paralysis genjutsu and that type of genjutsu is slightly harder to expel than ordinary genjutsu.

Anyway paralysis genjutsu are slighter harder to break, either sound or doujutsu. We saw oro was in a paralysis genjutsu this time doujutsu, but that isnt the important factor. He was in the middle of breaking it the usual way, but since its harder to break it took him longer

2- i know Rinnegan is an evolution to sharingan but Rinegan isn't a Genjutsu Specialist #Uchiha Madara never used Rinnegan To cast Genjutsu : he used Basic Sharingan : and I think Madara in terms of the genjutsu : is way better than nagato , yet he never used Rinne to cast gen.

1. You are wrong. Itachi could not cast Genjutsu on Kabuto if he wanted (Excluding: Izanami or Izanagi). He also was caught in the Genjutsu at the time and did not have time to counter. Thus, using Sasunoo at the last minute, after being released from the Sound Genjutsu, to counter Orochimaru.

2. Rinnegan is a Doujutsu similar to Sharingan ( and maybe Byakugan). Its connection to Sharingan is still unknown, but it is Speculated (or mostly assumed) that it has the Visual abilities similar to Sharingan. It was also shown that Nagato/Pain can see through Genjutsu or forms of it when he was caught into "Sage Mode" Jiraiya's Genjutsu. The reason he was unable to cancel it was because he was unable to move (Paralyze do to the effect of the Genjutsu) and/or the effects of the Genjutsu was sound and not visual (As seen with Itachi/Sasuke and Kabuto Battle).

Since the illusion Kabuto/Tayuya used paralyzed them and was on top of that powered with Senchakra, which increases each technique's niveau drastically, I do not think they could break it the regular way. However, there are possibilities.

1. Since the Sharingan enables them to see through illusions, they were able to see right through it - in other words to see reality. That enabled them (Itachi) to use a Mangekyou technique during the illusion; so Amaterasu is the first way to counter it. In case it should miss Kabuto (or whoever uses the Genjutsu), the pain caused to the eye will at least cancel the illusion.

2. Itachi and Sasuke didn't notice the illusion. In case the conditions are right, they (or at least Itachi) could simply throw the illusion back at the user by using the technique Itachi used against Kurenai.

Not " NOW " i said from the start: the condition where the Sharingan can be beaten by the Og : it's when the Og user is out of the sharingan user's sight, the case of itachi & sasuke Vs Kabuto, and i don't believe it's a nonsense i actually described what i saw : Itachi and sasuke had their back turned on to kabuto which made it hard on Itachi to make eye contact with Kabuto thus no genjutsu counter

that's because kabuto had the eye closed : so i think um convinced somehow in the part that the actual kabuto vs Itachi will win when it comes to the OG

The only way itachi or sasuke was able to break through sound was because they had a medium of entering the genjutsu - which is through a second body.

in other words: itachi had sasuke and sasuke had itachi.

if kabuto was fighting itachi and used the sound gen. technique. itachi would've been dead.

same exact scenario would've happened for sasuke.
