Sharingan/rinnegan genjutsu question

Simple question that I can't find an answer to on the naruto wiki. Can ALL sharingan users cast genjutsu. Genjutsu is a well known part of a sharingan and yet I don't recall ever seeing Kakashi or Tobi using it, however they both only had 1 visible sharingan eye at the time, does this mean it takes both eyes to use genjutsu?
Also since rinnegan is a step up from sharingan does that mean rinnegan eyes can cast genjutsu? If so then why did Pein never use genjutsu in any fight?

Kakashi and Tobi (maybe) are not Uchiha, which may explain the part about them not using genjutsu. The single eye part may be viable as well. Another part of it may be that genjutsu is something able to be mastered more easily when using a sharingan.

No, the Byakugan is a step down from Sharingan, and yet it is an invaluable tool for sensory ninja. Sharingan does not have that ability, as it mutated differently. So Rinnegan does not have an inborn talent for genjutsu.

kakashi cast a genjutsu on sakura and the two members of root when they were spying on naruto so that he wouldnt leave the village when they were having the summit. tobi also cast a genjutsu on konan to make her tell her were she hid nagato also on danzou lapdogs.

and as for pain not using genjutsu. since nagato is not of the uchiha clan and did not have the sharingan he didnt have time to practice genjutsu because he just got the rinnegan right off the bat. the difference betwenn madara is he is the true hier to the rinnegan and got it through the sharingan were he mastered all the techniques to it so when he unlock the rinnegan he has that plus he eye techs from his KM(sharingan)

kakashi used a genjutsu on the anbu black ops that were watching naruto before he left the village to go to the kage summit

So Madara probably has a much better rinnegan than pein since he is able to keep all his previous sharingan abilities as well, not sure if the same goes for Tobi, he has Nagato's rinnegan which never was a sharingan. That's probably why he only put 1 rinnegan in each eye of all the paths instead of all rinnegans, because he wants to keep the sharingan abilities.

Genjutsu isn't only a Sharingan ability. Kurenai is able to use it, and she isn't Uchiha. Sharingan most likely allows the user to use more complex and powerful genjutsu, as well as having a natural talent for it.

If you have a wind nature affinity, you can use very high level wind techs. Even if you dont have the affinity, someone skilled enough can use wind, but not as masterfully as someone whos affinity is for it. The same logic could apply to genjutsu.

tobi is an uchiha he use izanagi when he was fighting whit konan and that's a genjutsu that needs the senju & uchiha cell to do it.. Izanagi is a genjutsu that is cast on the user instead of others and is the most powerful amongst this type of genjutsu When it's activated, the caster removes the boundaries between reality and illusion within their personal space. To a degree this allows the user to control their own state of existence. It is normally only active for the briefest of moments.

Dude you read the manga if you do read it again there's only one rinnegan that's the real madara uchiha... he gave he's rinnegan to nagato so he could bring madara back to live. well there's only one pair of rinnegan the thing you see is that edo madara have he's rinnegan and tobi have the real one that madara left back.
the same as itachi sasuke planted he's sharingan to get EMS but you see itachi came back from the death whit he's real eyes

anyways Tobi use genjutsu and he's is an uchiha he use izanagi on here that's genjutsu ou need ichiha and senju cell DNA to make it and you sacrifice you're sharigan for that anyways look for it in naruto wiki

Troll stop being a troll, I can't get burned for asking a question either. I had a lot of confusion when it comes to rinnegan and I got some good answers, no one ever said in the manga anything about Madara's rinnegan being the ONLY one, I never made the connection that Tobi could have possibly taken his and given it to Nagato.

Nagato(Pain) wasnt able to use genjutsu because jiraya was his master and he didnt know genjutsu, thus never learning any... the only genjutsu jiraya was able to use was with those old frogs, and for nagato(pain) to use them he would have had to master sage mode, which he clearly states he never learned when fighting Naruto(ps: the old frogs would have had to been willing to help Nagato(pain) but that wasn't gonna happen)

madara unlocked the rinnegan. so the one pain had was his and the one tobi has was madaras but he gave it to nagato and took it back when he died.
