Another point to note is Kakashi vs Naruto 1st fight in Shippuden he couldn't tell the difference.

I agree with you. We all know Sasuke has arrogant ways. Example: Kakashi has a borrowed Sharingan. No, Kakashi never asked for the sharingan.

So IMO, No, If Byakugan can't distinguish clones, Sharingan can't. And no this isn't because I have a Hyuga Bio.

Sharingan cant see through clones, however, 3 tomoe, and ms/ems ARE strong enough to track the original person if they are in line of site. Also, we dont allow clone trickery in the RP so that doesnt matter lol

However, the sharingan CAN see through chakra clones (lightning clone, haze clone, water clone) things like that. As those are comprised of specific chakra types.

Yeh, you can tell by the positioning of the user if you pay close attention as well focusing on the movement and position of the opponent before and after the technique was performed/while it was being performed.

The manga doesn't say anything about the Sharingan being able to tell the real person from Shadow clones, so the anime most likely made a mistake.

This is wrong. Not gonna explain why, just know it is. It'll save you and I both the effort. The sharingan in fact can distinguish between the chakras of a clone and the actual shinobi.

Naruto (regular series) episode 130. It's at the beginning and possibly just a few minutes in really. Naruto makes a bunch of clones that charge at sasuke which sasuke easily defeats and then Sasuke says

"With the sharingan, I can see the real you right away"

I've heard from so many that Sharingan can't tell the difference between a clone and a real person and I believe this may prove that wrong.
