Before he can heal the patient, he first has to clean his hands. He focuses his chakra and transforms it into more yang based chakra. As he has done this he starts to release it steadily through one hand. Not too much, as this would hurt himself, and not too little as this would have no effect. Having found the right amount, he uses it to clean his other hand and performs the whole ritual again for his other hand.
