Haki + a Sword = Badassness.
We havn't seen him fight fully, but we can sort of tell from the little skirmishes he does, and also from the fact that he was supposed to be equal with Mihawk, tells us how powerful he is, and his little skirmish with whitebeard also proved that.

And put the spoiler tag up there, please. Some people aren't as caught up as we are.
You don't have to watch him fight a full battle to the death to know how strong he is, just the fact that he was on equal strength lvl with Whitebeard and his previous rival was Mihawk says enough about him...
