[Discussion] Shanks vs Kaido

If you ask most fans who they think will turn out to be the strongest once we see all the big boys in action, they'll either say Dragon or Shanks, so I don't know why people would be upset if the majority say Shank can beat Kaido. That said, I think Shanks is stronger.

Guys it's Shanks.... We clearly heard from Marine HQ that Shanks stopped/intercepted Kaido from reaching MF. Do you realize how powerful you have to be to STOP an enemy, let alone defeat him? It's clear that Shanks is the winner here.

It's not clear at all. Shanks, his men and the ship were completely undamaged when they arrived at MF. That would mean a fight didn't occur between the two crew who are on the same level. Kaido could also be stronger than Shanks, but his crew could be weaker than Shanks'.

I've read enough manga in my 27 years to see when an author builds up a character like shanks, he should be pretty tough.

plus the fact Shanks 'STOPPED' kaido, and went to the war himself, [why would Kaido if stronger not pursue him]

I would put him at least pre time skip , above Kaido

I think they are virtually equals, but Shanks has the strongest crew. For some reason they were much more intimidating than, for example, Whitebeard's crew.

Oda himself said on an interview that if shanks was one fisherman island that his conquerors haki could take out 100 thousand fisherman , shanks is on another level than every character that we have seen before , even the marines at marineford was afraid if him, shanks said if anyone is Thirsty for battle come attack me an nobody not even the admirals are black beard attacked shanks , even lord Mihawk left . Plus he equally clashed against white beard and divided the sky, shanks over kaido . We know the kaido is a beast but shanks is a true God of the pirates that's why he doesn't even care about the one piece . He saw it with Roger . Shanks know what the onepiece is and it's location but he's not interesting in it .
