[Discussion] Shanks vs Kaido

Who do you think will be stronger once both have been introduced?
Red-Haired Shanks or Kaido of the Beasts?

Ik we have literally seen nothing from either of these two, just wondering what peoples opinions are on who is stronger since Kaido has had a lot of hype ​

Kaido might be strong as a whole crew but Shanks individually can take him down without any need of feats...

Having one arm means absolutely nothing.This is One Piece, not naruto.It's not like Shanks is going to need hand signs for his swordsmanship.Furthermore,the RedHair Pirates aren't a small crew.There where at least a hundred Pirates on that ship when they enter marinefold.Only the main/veteran pirates join shanks on the battlefield.It's obvious there were more, and you can assume some strong ones at that.Rockstar is a pirate with a hundred million berrie bounty and even he had to stay on the ship.

And stopping the wars was cool, but not some great feat.The marine just took major losses from The Whitebeard Pirates.Akainu was hurt, Aokiji was hurt, Shikubakai(spelling)were hurt(Moria) or leaving (Hawkeye).The marines were in bad shape and Sengoku knew they couldn't take on another Yonko after what Whitebeard had just done to them.

First the Mihawk vs Shanks and now Kaidou vs Shanks?

What's wrong with this place!?

There are two sides. The crucial thing in this discussion would be finding out what happened in their encounter before the Marineford war. Personally I believe Shanks struck a temporary deal with Kaidou which would overall benefit Kaidou in multiple ways, Kaidou seems to be an opportunist. All Shanks needed to do to stop him was to give him an even better opportunity than killing Whitebeard. However it could be argued that Shanks used force. But I highly doubt this because no Yonkou could beat another Yonkou easily.

Especially if he's the strongest creature (living being) on the planet according to Law. Basically going by this you could say he was and is stronger than Whitebeard was during the Marineford War (In fact I hope he was the weakest of the four Yonkou at the the time of the war) since Man is a subcategory of Creature.

So personally I believe that Kaidou is the strongest living character alongside Dragon.

First of all he stopped WB chinese pole arm with 1 arm while WB was using 2 arm now keep into mind having 1 arm you have to be extremely fast because you can't risk falling or your at a disadvantage. It wasn't only stopping the war what made me say he's super strong it was stopping Akainu in general Akainu didn't say a word when Shanks was in his face despite being willing to fight 15 commanders. He also stopped BB who was on a power high and was willing to fight two legendary marines together

Whiles I think Dragon is the strongest in OP easily Shanks is nothing to mess with and in my opinion Oda potrayed him to be the strongest Yonko and having one arm might have not affected his strength like you said it adds to the appeal of Shanks

Haha. calm down guy. all of this is only speculation, shanks is just a likable character, not so much d**kriding as likability. he's been shown to be a cool guy, so of course people are gonna root for em. kaidou on the other hand has been painted as a villain, who's no doubt strong but he has nothing aside from his title, zoan army and law's words backing him up. no appearance. no feats. we'll know in the near future just how strong he is tho.

Again, all of this only would matter if no other Yonko could have done it but Shanks.What to say Kaido or Big Mam couldn't have stop whitebeards staff?Also stopping Akainu isn't such a big feats.Whitebeard had just ripped Akainu.Akainu knew his limit.Taking on a commanders and taking on a Yonko in Akainu condition are two separate things.Akainu was well aware he couldn't take on another yonko at the time.As for Blackbeard, he was on a power high, but blackbeard wasn't willing to take on two legendary marines.Garp jump an attacked Jesus Burgess when Burgess tried to blind side sengoku during sengoku's fight with Blackbeard.An while Shanks did get blackbeard to leave , blackbeard own words were 'i'll got what i wanted, and 'it's too soon to fight you' which would lead one to believe he didn't fear shanks and he didn't think their power levels were on different scales.

If I remember correctly, Shanks intercepted Kaido from attacking Whitebeard.

That might count for something, right?

Although Yonkou fighting maybe a clash of swords, flex their individual powers, mutual respect, and then go there way prior to the event.

I think Shank would win just because what has been portrayed and him being such big character in the series. It defo would be awesome fight to watch. All emperors are badass.
I too believe that Dragon is the strongest in One piece world.

Guys it's Shanks.... We clearly heard from Marine HQ that Shanks stopped/intercepted Kaido from reaching MF. Do you realize how powerful you have to be to STOP an enemy, let alone defeat him? It's clear that Shanks is the winner here.
