Now appeased of his dietary hunger, he resumes his trek through the darkened forest. The trees are beginning to become more and more sparse with greater distance between them. He figures he must be finally leaving this dreadful forest that he has grown weary of over the weeks. Though he may be content to be rid of this place, he can only imagine what may lie ahead of him.

After some more hours of night travel, he sees the familiar glow of fireflies that hover without movement through the trees. Lights from a town are up ahead, and it has been quite some time since he?s been able to rest in an actual bed. Looking forward to what little comfort he can afford, he picks up his pace.

As he approaches the village, he is intrigued by the amount of light that is filtering through the trees.

?What in the world is going on?? He asks himself.

As he further approaches the town, it is audaciously clear that the whole population is out and about, being active. Finally arriving at the gate to the town, one guard walks up towards him, brandishing a spear,

?Hey, you! Ya, what?re you doing here??

A second guard, who is wearing the same outfit and casually holding an identical spear on his shoulder and a gourd in his hand, speaks up and say,

?Can?t you see this guy just wants to party like the rest of the bums who got off work tonight? We?re such suckers having to work tonight man! It was such a bad idea.?

The first guard looks back at the second with a mixed sentiment of anger and pity against the fact that he is undermining his duties, but remorse for what he said was true.

?Sigh? Fine, whatever.? Goes the first guard. ?Just as long as you don?t do anything stupid you?re free to enter.?

The first guard turns and walks back to his post as he signals for the gates to be opened. Standing calmly, where he was first addressed his intentions, yet never uttering a word the ninja walks forward towards the gates as they open, letting him enter.

He is astonished to see that the entirety of the main road through the town is lit up countless lamps and torches, and what appear to be more people bustling about than the entire village can hold.
The first thought that comes to mind is,

Doubt there will be any vacancy anywhere?

As he walks slowly forward, dazzled by the brilliance of the town. Squinting, he tries to adjust his eyesight that for a couple weeks was accustomed to nothing but moonlight and starlight. Children rush by, pulling behind them elaborate kites. Women selling their delicacies to the assembly of gleeful families, Fathers taking their sons and daughters to buy candy and young couples sharing a bowl of ramen.

As he travels along through the dynamic sea of people, he catches a glimpse of something out of the corner of his eye. He turns his head, to check what had piqued his interest.
A young lady dressed in a violet lab coat, dark short-shorts and tall black boots. She?s young, has a pretty face. The long, deep scarlet colored hair, chaotic, yet controlled, it captivated him. His heart started beating as if he was sprinting, but he was standing still. His palate became dry, all things had slowed and his focus centered upon the woman.
She turned her head, ever so slowly as to allow hair to cascade over her shoulder. Glancing over her shoulder, she spots the bewildered man who is frozen stiff like a statue amongst the bustle and toil. They both wonder to themselves as they lock eyes,

Who is that?
