Seriously Jiraiya! Why you wasted Naruto's time?

Maybe he had "a different type" of training...you know exploring the world...

Let's see

Naruto was seeing the world, training to control Kyuubi chakra which was #1 objective bc of akatsuki, as well as polished ninja skills(part 1 Naruto was sloppy, just unpredictable) & yes the bigger rasengans.

BUT LETS NOT FORGET HIS HAREM JUTSU

He taught naruto the meaning of being a ninja and it took sasuke till the war arc to figure things out.
He taught naruto about loss so he wouldnt turn into a emo ******
He taught naruto to control more of the nine tails charka but he still couldnt control his feelings.
I think jiraiya did good

There is no objective meaning to being a ninja, it's just a philosophy and nothing more.

I don't remember him teaching Naruto about loss, but Naruto's reaction to Jiraiya's death was pretty pathetic, he just passed up his chance at justice like nothing. Being angry at the fact that your family was murdered by your brother isn't being emo, it's the human way of reacting to thins. Sorry but just because Naruto is perfect in every way, doesn't mean every other character will be too.

Imperfect characters is what makes the story worthwhile.

Jiraiya did more harm than good, Naruto got completely creamed and outclassed by Sasuke, he was leagues behind.

Jiraiya taught Naruto the fundamentals of chakra control which yielded massive results if he could properly use his gargantuan reserves that are known to be tens of times greater than Kakashi's. It was a good choice even when though the results weren't as prominent initially.

^So Naruto learned nothing then? "He is no longer a reckless knucklehead who blindly rushes into danger" and then proceeds to lose control to the Kyuubi.

>Trains to control Kyuubi
>Goes 4 tails rage mode for the first time ever

It was all plot or else naruto would actually be able to bring sasuke back and 90% of the series would be over.

Jiraiya was slacking off, writing his erotic novels.

Sasuke went from being Jounin level (VOTE) to a full-fledged Kage level Shinobi (Pre-Hebi and Hebi Sasuke).

I'd say more Chunnin with Jonin level abilities (like a bunch of people in that arc) and low Kage level as Hebi Sasuke. Never thought about ranking him that way though, cool idea- Hebi Sasuke had such a leap in power that it's scary.

That time skip was a great excuse to add more to MC's fighting style on the spot but nope, Kishi Kishi'd it.

This.

When the story demanded it, Naruto picked up wind style, rasenshuriken, sage mode, bijuu mode and bijuu dama at the speed of plot.

Early Part 2 Naruto only had refined skills from Part 1, just to make Hebi Sasuke's growth that much more incredible. Kish wanted Naruto to constantly chase Sasuke, and not stand equal to him or surpass him until the plot said so.

Not like the story of characters in- universe ever acknowledge this though. On several occasions, Kakashi, Jiraiya, Tsunade and Obito (as Tobi) talked about how strong Naruto is/how many powerful jutsus Jiraiya taught him.

Rely on Kishi to nerf and neg things because he can't come up with better ideas of how to tell a story.

The reason for that was because Kishi didn't want Naruto being too OP in the start of Shippuden. He held him back to make it more interesting.

It's a combo of Naruto being too stupid and Jiraiya being a little TOO laidback. Should have came back with Rasenshurikan and good chakra control at the very least(meaning having the courage to taunt Kurama).

@ bold is a pretty stupid statement...what the hell was naruto too stupid to learn or do?
