We know that Naruto may be a Senju, we don't really know who was the first person to learn about Senjutsu. So could it be possible that one of the Senju created senjutsu?

I know there was a thread on this long ago in a galaxy we live in, but don't Senju and senjutsu refer to different things before translation. In otherwords, senjutsu (sage arts) and senju (the members of the clan) refer to different things in Japanese? I could be completely wrong, but I thought someone said that.
Also, since Jiraiya somehow accidently stumbled upon the toad mountain, he may be one of the first successful ones. All of those toad statues Naruto was lifting (and dropping like a dumbass, lol) are failures or dead toad ancestors. I wouldn't be surprised if only Jiraiya and Naruto ever learned the toad sage arts (senjutsu), and Jiraiya didn't perfect it since his body became toadish.
Please someone correct me because it's been a long time, and I was trying to remember someone else's points.
