Yeah, you would. You can think bigger too. Certainly you can make gas state customs on it. But you could experiment with other states too. Even phase transitions themselves. It emphasizes the versatility you can achieve with it.

(Akaihoshi no Me) – Eye of the Red Star
Type: Offensive, Supplementary
Rank: S
Range: Short – Long
Chakra: N/A (+50 chakra cost to applied technique)
Damage: N/A
Description: An enhancement cast through the user’s body as an extension to their techniques by infusing a considerable amount of chakra into them, along with trace amounts of the Sea of Life, occurring within the same timeframe. This causes any technique of the user’s to be augmented with a curse that is cast through the Sea of Life. The curse, much like the tether formed through Hungry Ghost, forms a bond through traditional counters against the user’s techniques. When the user’s techniques either strike the opponent or a source of their chakra the curse will bind to it. Those afflicted will suffer from physically debilitating effects; their maximum health will be reduced by 10 points, all damage they receive will be increased by 10% if directly struck, and they must spend 10% increased chakra for all of their techniques, not counting as additional chakra input but simply strain on their reserves. The health reduction does not count as damage, it simply counts as a reduction in maximum reserves. When the tether is broken the opponent will receive their lost health back, not including any damage sustained in the time before then. Effects of Eye of the Red Star can stack per clash between techniques, amplifying the negative effects considerably. The tether effect of Eye of the Red Star can be blocked or broken through techniques that include Yin-Yang Release or Natural Energy of equivalent chakra to the technique used. The infusion of Red Star does not count toward additional chakra infusion, simply increased strain on reserves. This technique can be used four times per battle.

Okay there's a lot to take in with the next technique. First off, this is a tether. What inspired it initially was everyone's innate connection to life. So it would be easy to connect with them using their chakra as the connection. The point of this technique is to really stack up the debuff. So every time you trigger it, you'll layer the effects on. Pretty straight forward. One instance is -10 HP and 10% chakra, a second instance is 20 HP and 20% chakra, up to a max of 40 health/40% chakra use. Dispelling it works in the same way that getting rid of any Yin or Yang effect works - Natural Energy or a surge of Yin or Yang of equivalent chakra to the technique that applied it, not counting the additional 50 chakra you infused of course.

This should inspire a lot of customs, especially since of how similar it is to Yin's HG, and the effects of Yang's own debilitating techniques.
Some would say it was, much like hungry ghost, even. But yeah this does have a lot. Some of the key points I already know and the rest you explained, one question I suppose though. When it comes to boosting the chakra cost of a technique the limit is +10, would 10 of the 50 cost of this apply to the technique it was used on, in regards to breaking it, or is the 50 entirely "excess" chakra used up in the tech.

Example, I use a standard S rank jutsu 40/80 then use this with it, would it become 50/80 or remain 40/80 and if the latter could this still work on a move that was chakra boosted generally speaking?

It all goes to excess. I don't think the first ten applies. Though I might be wrong there. I've always just assumed all of it goes to excess since the techniques that apply them are already insanely powerful as they are.

(Seimei no Umi: Atarashī Inochi no Tanjō) – Sea of Life: Birth of New Life
Type: Offensive, Defensive, Supplementary
Rank: Forbidden
Range: Short – Mid
Chakra: 100
Damage: N/A
Description: This technique is born from the Sea of Life’s powerful ability to reshape life and is used against generic life forms, not other ninja, in the surrounding area. The user will release a small amount of Sea material from their body, sending it into the ground or into the air in order to strike another lifeform. Once struck the afflicted living being will be subjected to the Amino-Geis and to the user’s discretion in reshaping. In essence this technique allows the user to reshape life at a genetic level on anything within the battlefield, barring other ninja. The new life can take on any shape that the user desires, as long as it is no more than thrice the user’s size. It will move at the speed of a Jounin shinobi, have 100 health, 1,000 chakra, and be capable of using techniques from the Sea of Life technique list. The technique can be used against many basic lifeforms, such as bugs, worms, fish, and even an enemy’s summons though summonings will not be altered in terms of health, speed or chakra. In essence, as long as it is living and not another biography or Yin-Yang Creation, then this technique can warp the lifeform to the user’s will. The abundance of life in the earth, sea, and air make it particularly difficult to prevent the user from using this technique, although it is possible within reason. This technique can be used twice per battle, and after use the user is unable to use techniques from the Sea of Life for two turns.

Here we go. Final two. This one is particularly incredible since you're basically shaping new life however you want with almost no obstacles to stop you.

Ah nice, not many questions about this, I mean it seems incredibly broad but also well defined in it's usage, especially given that it can be used on bugs and the like, meaning it's useful almost anywhere that life exists. Making customs based on this could be really interesting theoretically.

(Gyakusetsu Saisei) – Paradoxical Rebirth
Type: Supplementary
Rank: Forbidden
Range: N/A
Chakra: 200
Damage: N/A
Description: A technique derived from Takauji Ashikaga’s own Paradoxical Rebirth, allowing the user to access their own genetic material contained within the Sea of Life to afford them potent healing and regenerative powers. In short, this technique allows the user, through contact with the Sea of Life, to restore their body to peak physical condition. Much like Yang Release’s Touch of the Sun, which can heal any amount of physical damage short of death, this technique possesses limitless healing potential that, unlike the Yang version, can be used in battle quite simply. This isn’t exactly a ‘healing’ technique; it is initiated through contact with the Sea of Life and the user’s body is reformed by that Sea of Life material. As long as there is suitable amount of Sea of Life that the user is in contact with, roughly the same volume as their body, then they will be reborn by it. This technique can be used once per battle and, after use, the user is unable to use Sea of Life techniques for four turns.

So this last one sets the upper limit to what you can do to self revive. Making customs that are necessarily more convenient to use than this probably will have a hard time being approved. This isn't really a healing technique at all. You're using the Sea of Life to basically make you a new body. The Sea of Life can heal you, which you'd do through other customs. But that isn't what this is. Obviously the chakra cost to this technique is pretty immense, and ideally you'd only want to use it when you have a reliable amount of Sea of Life present that can't be quickly disposed of.

Gives me the big Enkidu vibes, being remade from the glorious sea of life clay. I understand the move and the custom potential is really great, I'm looking forwards to making some more simple healing stuff with a lower cost that said.
