Tobirama's personality hardly goes beyond scowling and putting others down. The dude is a mediocre character who has been the same since his introduction as a child, no development, and has barely done anything badass. The only badass thing he's done is that scene where he teleported Obito's bomb back to him. Other than that, there's nothing special about him.

1. No standing up to Hashi wasn't badass because Hashi proceeded to put him in his place and outshine him

2. Killing Izuna also wasn't badass because we saw no fight, it was just one strike in one panel and Izuna wasn't even paying attention or using Mangekyo.

3. The way his personality was presented as a child is the exact same way it's been presented as an adult, meaning he's had no change, which means no development.

Madara didn't abandon the village, he was ousted. Again, Tobirama's prolonged whining drove him to employ a different plan to protect his clan. He still segregated, didn't honor the treaty, made sure they never had any right within the inner political sanctum, abolished democracy - is there anything this guy didn't do to piss all over that peace treaty which was supposed to be a start over for both the clans?

I've seen a lot of people put Tobirama down for this, and now somehow he's responsible for everything that's happened thus far in the manga. What? So, trying to understand why the Uchiha have a genetic stick up their ass means Madara's revival is his fault? Just let the Uchiha destroy themselves and everything around them, I guess.

As a future Hokage, it would be foolish for him to have the village's best interests in mind.

At the end of the day, Zetsu played Madara and his clan like puppets on a string, if Madara didn't do what he did, you can bet your ass Zetsu would've made sure someone else had.

Zetsu was kicking about, chances are he would've done something else to revive Madara, why else would he bother finding his corpse?
