Once caught inside it, the target cannot mold chakra above S-rank and the barrier itself can only be broken by B-Rank techniques or by attacking the user of the technique.

Otherwise you can be tricked into sharing information with the wrong person.

From what i've seen, a sealing formula is an array of black markings meant to contain or restrict something which can be released. They typically function remotely from the person who created it and sustain themselves. Certain predetermined triggers can activate the effects of the formula or reverse them.

Okay, what you wrote is good. Formulas don't have to seal/unseal anything, they can also be used to achieve a desired outcome. Formulas are the most unexplored aspect of fuinjutsu which can have incredible potential, if done right. You basically described formulas as a type of computer or machine, which is exactly the way I have explained it to previous students. It basically executes a command or series of processes.vTake the last technique for example, there's no real way for someone to achieve that effect (the paired scrolls) by using normal chakra. How can someone write something on one piece of paper and have it appear on all of the others? It doesn't really make sense. However, just describe it as a formula and the method can be... overlooked in a way? You don't have to explain exactly how the scrolls can be paired. There isn't really an explanation of how that is possible. But, just say a formula does it and everybody is okay with it! (this is referring to submitting CJ for the most part). The formula does it automatically. It allows a fuinjutsu to perform functions/actions that are beyond any ninjutsu, elemental ninjutsu, genjutsu, etc. Check these CJ out and analyze them. Describe the different formulas - how they work, what they do, etc.

Description: This sealing technique is a prepared, self-activating formula applied to all of the user’s swords that he possesses. When this technique is used, the user simply needs to draw his sword and sling it in the desired direction. Once airborne, the sealing formula activates passively and unseals a shadow clone. This shadow clone functions the same as a regular shadow clone and remains on the battlefield until destroyed. If the shadow clone has been discovered and is attacked, he is capable of immediately grasping the sword and slinging it again (of course if the attacking technique is of a large enough scale to catch the sword it will merely overpower the sword and seals and deactivate them fully if not defended from). From then on, a second shadow clone is unsealed who grabs the sword once more. This process continues to repeat up to a maximum of four times before the sword is unable to unseal any more clones. If in range of the opponent when unsealed, a shadow clone is capable of physically striking the opponent with a series of sword strikes (combination left up to the user) that deals 60 damage. Description: This is a special two way seal, that can be created by writing the formula on your body and then injecting either Fire or Earth chakra into it where it then lays dormant on the body, turning invisible, until activated. Once the user has been engaged within close range with an enemy that attempts to inject chakra within the users body through taijutsu the seal will activate on the users body, appearing around the initial area of contact, absorbing the injected chakra into it while injecting the opponent's body part with either Fire or Earth chakra. The user still takes the full hit of the taijutsu attack, but with one hand seal from the user, the opponent will either feel an extreme burning feeling in their joints as they attempt to move them or an extreme stiffness depending on the chakra placed in the seal. This prevents the opponent from performing any hand seals in their next turn. This seal can only absorb up to B ranked chakra at once, and only one type of chakra seal can be place on the body. The seal can activate up to three separate times throughout the battle, through 3 separate B ranked chakra injecting taijutsu moves, where the sealing formula then breaks and fades. The user will not be able to create the seal again until the battle is over.

Description: A technique based on the concept of “Earth Release: Mud Wolves”, this technique is a dormant trap set by the user through the placement of several seals located on the user’s body. These seals have the ability to detect foreign chakra utilizing a complex formula (chakra belonging to an entity other than the user/user’s techniques, allies, or present summons). If the user chooses to not consciously utilize the seals, he can simply suppress their release on whim. Once used, the seals automatically unseal the contents within. The seals release bursts of foam (equivalent to A-rank), which can be used to form constructs appropriate to the situation, with each construct being able to reach up to long range upon creation. The constructs are simple in fashion (spears, pillars, shields, walls, and other basic objects) and are able to be controlled with great precision, allowing the seal to create something such as spears which would expand outwards, but are able to turn, spin and make other complicated movements. In a situation where foreign chakra is located short ranged from the user but he is unaware (such as chakra located behind him or chakra not visible to the naked eye such as a colorless gas) this technique would create a super-thin, spiked, foam bubble with the user located inside. The spikes would extend rapidly outwards throughout the entirety of short range in order to defend the user from the opponent/opponent’s technique. Additionally, the foam bubble is transparent which allows the user to see the battlefield around him. Due to the chakra seal’s inherent automatic release when detecting chakra, the user is able to use separate techniques simultaneously to when this technique is activated.

Metaphor Swordsman- What this formula does is unseal a shadow clone when activated. The formula is placed on swords before hand with clones sealed inside. Throwing a sword activates its seal and releases a clone. Its really efficient as the technique is already prepared and doesn't even take up moves to use. They aren't limited to one use either, a single seal able to produce a max of 4 clones when used repeatedly.

Repulse- This one is meant as a counter to taijutsu techniques that deal internal damage with chakra like Gentle Fist. The formula placed on your own body and either fire or earth chakra is sealed inside before it becomes invisible. It would activate automatically when the user is struck and has chakra injected into them. The contents of the formula are then swapped: it absorbs the enemy's chakra and releases the already stored chakra into the enemy to cause damage. That way the user is only harmed by the strike and nothing else. This formula can be activated more than once too.

Qalupalik's Affection- Another prepared formula placed on the body, this time in the form of multiple formulas. They contain foam and are capable of detecting foreign chakra. When they do, and the user is not suppressing them, they activate automatically and release the foam (the CE kind) in various offensive and defensive forms that seem to be preset. It sort of like an automated defense like gaara's sand.

The technique i learned last was Sealing Arts: Scroll Communication technique.

I carefully place four explosive markers on trees surrounding the the entrance of a small camp i've set up in a forest clearing. There is an enemy tracking me and i must be ready for his arrival, especially since he will likely appear in the dead of night. The markers are part of a seal which detects people moving through the boundary created by the tags and causes an explosion in response. Once the trap is complete, i sit at the center of my camp and clap my hands together. Focusing my chakra, i form a detection barrier surrounding me and spread its range to encompass the whole camp. This way i will be able detect my pursuer as soon as he moves though the barrier as well as grasp his position. There i wait, maintaining the technique until i feel a presence coming fast from my right, moving with hardly a sound. Without turning to let him know i am aware of his presence, i form a row of handseals and produce a whirlwind of spiraling wind and petals between me and my attacker. The vortex barrels toward the man who attempts to dodge but through my control the vortex changes direction and hits its target. At the mercy of the cutting vortex, the man is forced back to the outskirts of the camp where i've laid my trap. Although the man had been initially careful enough to avoid the trap on his arrival, he is placed in it against his will which triggers the seal and engulfs the man in a multi-directional explosion.

technique in which you can apply the tags can be used. In
the case of expert ninjas, the tags might even be
incorporated into the restraining technique, with no need to
actually manually place the tag or tags. Additionally, less
experienced ninjas can find that throwing one or more
kunais with the sealing tags attached at the technique which
will trigger the same effect when the kunais stick on the
technique. This prevents the target from moving, molding
chakra or even being summoned.
Note: The seal takes a while to form, so most opponents can
either counter the restraining technique (thus preventing the
sealing formula of taking effect) or rip off the tags from
themselves negating its effects entirely. If the target,
however, fails to counter the restraining technique or is
counter to it fails or if he doesn't remove the tags in his next
move, then the seal will fully be placed and the target
unable to release himself.
Note: This technique is specially designed to be used on
summons and Edo Tensei Summons but will work on any
opponent except Jinchurikiis.


This actually a paper tag with a sealing forming. Its the basic seal that does nothing apart from sealing something that its place on or sealing something by placing it on something that is restricting the thing.

Kay though supplementary, lemme see how you'll use this in a situation taking into consideration that it can be removed easily if the target is able to.

Simple enough. I'll use a custom of mine. ^^

I gather a handful of sealing tags and drop them into the lake me and my target are standing on. Then i proceed to form a few handseals to manipulate the water into the form of a wall between us. Belts of water shoot out of the wall with the tags on them, wrapping up the target and binding him to the wall's surface. The tags spread their markings over the water holding the target, leaving him unable move or perform techniques.

Description: The user performs the Dog -> Boar -> Ram handseals and creates a semi-solid wall of water from a water source. Several strong belts of water shoot out from the wall that can swiftly bind an opponent movements by wrapping around his body or attack by lashing out with the belts. A lightning jutsu can be used to electrify the wall and shock anyone in contact with it. Because of this, if an opponent attempts to break free of the belts using Chidori Nagashi, he will only be shocked with his own jutsu. This jutsu can be performed on a greater scale while utilizing a large water source which increases the strength of this jutsu to S-rank. The amount of water needed for the S-rank version is similar to what is created from the Waterfall Basin and Exploding Water Colliding Wave techniques.
-Usable 4 times per battle but the S-rank version costs an extra use.

Description: The user places this seal on the forehead of a
Jinchuuriki influenced by the powers of a Bijuu, to forcibly
cause the Bijuu's powers to recede. The Jinchuuriki becomes
exhausted after this happens.
Note: This can only restrict Jinchuuriki in their Incomplete
form, not when they completely transform into the Bijuu.

This is a simple one and is rarely useful unless you use it on a bijuu to prevent him from rampaging or to capture him. And not many Jinjuriki running around. I know one though, he loves snapping necks.
So you slap the tag on his forehead to make his chakra recede back into the body, apparently reverting back an incomplete form of bijuu into its human form.


( Han'you Fūin ) - Generic Sealing Technique

Description: This technique is a standard ninja skill which
allows a ninja to summon an assortment of items or
weapons that have been stored using Fūinjutsu,typically
they are stored within scrolls. When needed, the owner will
activate the seals releasing their item or weapon of choice.
Scrolls can also be used as ammunition for other weapons.
The items themselves are unaffected by time. This
Technique allows the user to seal any weapons they wish
being their own or opponents.
Note: Cannot seal opponent's custom weapons, or the
special weapons of a particular character ( example:
Samehada or Kubikiribocho ).
Note: Can only seal corpses, and not injured people
regardless of the extent of their injury.

You have scrolls, big and small, where you are able to store things. Weapons, tools, objects, corpse(should you need to convey a dead comrade through a long distance) etc. You are able to summon them back to existence using the same scroll. Though sealing may not be advisable during the head of a battle but the summoning aspect is quite good, possible and useful.

Seeing some random jinchuuriki going out of control, i don't let them finish transforming like some dbz episode, instead just slapping this special seal onto their forehead. It forces the bijuu's chakra back into the host body, pushing it back to its source and leaving the host bijuu-chakra-free and easily captured.

( Han'you Fūin ) - Generic Sealing Technique

I take out scrolls of various sizes and roll them out. There are sealing formulas written across all of them for the purpose of storage. On the smaller ones i lay stacks of shuriken, exploding tags, and other tools before activating the seals that transport the tools into them instantly. As for the larger scroll, i casually snap the neck of one of my Paths and seal him in that one for easy transport. Finally, i activate the seals one more, this time getting them to release their contents and summon them on the spot.

A few questions about this technique:
1. If scroll is destroyed, what happens to its contents?
2. Can a scroll's contents be launched from it?

Yes, but gravity must act on it. An example is TenTen, all her scroll is launched upwards so that gravity guides the weapon to make it offensive. For the ones she does use from above, she had to hurl them manually.

To auto launch, you'll need the lightning blade creation seal that I'll teach you.


To seal is not that slow compared to 5 elemental seal that requires several handseal. This only requires a single seal of confrontation or no handseal, focus your chakra and they poof. So its quite fast.

Simple, you apply a an explosive seal on a location that reacts to the opponent's chakra. I particularly, like to use this on weapons.

Description: When the opponent is trapped inside a
container of some sort, the user places five sealing tags, on
each side of the container forming a rough pentagon shape.
The opponent is then locked in suspended animation for
one turn.
Note: If the opponent escapes the container or shatters it
before all the tags are placed, he avoids the technique fully.

Place something in a container, place five seals to form a pentagon shape then seal what's inside. Very userful to even seal the opponent with his own jutsu. How though?

With my hand i place a seal on one of my Paths and send him off to the enemy. When he gets close enough to the enemy, the seal reacts to his chakra and causes an explosion.

Something like this: I'm fighting an earth user who hides himself in a stone sphere so i run around his sphere, placing 5 sealing tags around it in somewhat of a pentagon shape. The seals hold him in suspended animation as though time has stopped for him.

With this, you are able to seal one of the basic 5 elements. Though the process is slow, but you can have the scroll pre prepared.

Description: This is a special "ninja tool summon" that
allows the user to seal basic ninja tools, like shurikens,
kunais, swords, etc into sealing marks placed on their
clothes or their body. The ninja tools can be summoned in
an instant just by touching the sealing "marks". The greatest
advantage of this technique is that the time between taking
out a ninja tool, taking the right stance and actually throwing
it is greatly reduced and one can unleash a barrage of
weapons with great speed in a small time window. Also
when a weapon such as a Fūma Shuriken is summoned, the
time needed to throw it can be further shortened by having
prepared the weapon in fully extended form beforehand.
Sasuke even shown that you can have the weapons
connected to wires and linked to their sealing marks and
used the technique in sealing marks he placed in his wrist
bracers.
Note: Can summon up to 30 basic tools per sealing mark
and can have up to 2 sealing marks.

So the question you asked some posts back about if one could auto launch a weapon from the seal. Well, you can do that with this. You even have the seal as tattoo on your wrist and you can summon weapon by just taping the seal and spending little chakra.
