Sound is basically considered an element in the RP and it allows us users to produce sound waves, which as virtual vibrations can be passed through many forms of mediums. There are several types of ways in which Sound is used. There is the destructive style, in which the Sound is used as shockwaves from soundwaves to deal physical damage, the ability to induce illusions through sound. By means of the target hearing said sound trigger as well as the ability to mess with a person's stability or balance by using sound waves that do not directly harm them, but their senses.
It is well known of Sound's weakness torwards Wind, so we have to be careful we don't place ourselves in a tricky situation. Now in reality, Sound is something much more complex, though I don't see the need to expand onto that, i'll tell you a lil. It's pretty much the propagation of vibrations through the air (and even water). Sound is fast, very fast. More so than i can bother to explain. But in the RP, is has been tweaked slightly so that it does not become a one hit technique. Atleast not ideally.

You're right for the most part. Destructive sound techniques travel slightly faster than the standard wind technique. Hindering waves and Sound Genjutsu travel at the speed of sound.

Define the above three categories and give me an example jutsu of each from the canon list.

Destructive Waves cause physical damage, visible effects such as breaking apart through objects and obstacles that are in their path. They pass through the air in the form of ripples given their nature, and as such, can be seen and prepared for. Despite being sound waves, they aren't sonic speed fast, instead they are slightly faster than wind techniques. Which are very fast.

Hindering Waves, these take personal effect on the victims. They cannot be seen coming and are usually (if not always) unable to be prevented or avoided. Given they travel at the actual speed of sound, instead of stopping it, we can find ways to endure it or remove the effects almost immediately. They don't have any physical damage attributes, but take effect upon the victim's mental and balance stealth. Hindering their senses.

Description: The user gathers Ototon chakra in his vocal chords. He then whistles, releasing a high frequency sound wave, creating a sound similar to a faint buzzing in the target's ear, similar to Ringing Madness. However, instead of causing a foe to become disoriented, it impairs his hearing, making the buzzing the only thing that he can hear, seeming as if the target has bees swimming around his ear. The buzzing drowns any sound out, unless they are exceptionally loud (i.e. great explosions, one yelling directly into the target's ear, etc), making it very difficult for the target to hear incoming jutsus or attacks.
Note: Hearing impairment lasts 3 turns
Genjutsu Inducing Waves. Perhaps the easiest to explain, we already know how Genjutsu works. Well, this basically makes Sound a medium to activate illusions, and often replace handseals. Through the release of sound wave of high frequencies we place the target under an illusion upon hearing the sound we fabricate.

The user has control over the illusion, being able to make it seem as if entire trees have been snapped in half, falling on the target or as if an earth structure has collapsed either above or beneath the opponent, etc. The illusion can be edited to fit the situation and even the sound can be slightly altered deepening on the object that is "snapped". Is more effective depending upon the terrain this is used in ( extremely effective in a forest, not effective in a desert ).

I will explain the techniques to you (briefly, though I tend to write too much, they say z,z) and I want you to analyze it for me, and give me some strengths and weaknesses of them, and how you aim to use them, all in one small paragraph like format. Nonetheless, let us begin.

Description: The user will enhance their hearing by infusing his ears with sound chakra. Then, by utilizing chakra and enfacing his lungs, the user will be able to control the frequency and intensity of the sound emitted from his simple breathing. This low frequency, inaudible sound is passively emitted and has no effect other than emerging from him and bouncing off of objects. Using the enhanced hearing, the user is able to know where everything is around them, effectively creating a sonar effect through the rebound and reflection of sound waves. The hearing and the sonar effect is precise enough so that one can effectively use it to substitute one's vision in battle if needed. Despite being very effective, specially if the user has any of his other senses hindered, it also leaves the user vulnerable to sound genjutsu or sound attacks which will be much more drastic in its effects.

You have probably seen this used many times, and despite its usefulness, it also has its flaws. This technique is pretty simple where you will infuse your ears with Sound chakra, as well as enhance your hearing. Nonetheless, tell me a bit about it, before I talk too much again and do your work for you xD

Ah yes. The famed Sonnar Skill. I've seen it be used in numerous ways, by blind bios, by bios that need a form of sensory other than sight, etc. It's a simple technique, yet has a very elaborate scheme around it. To activate it, simply channeling Sound chakra into your ears will do the trick. It "detects" anything that moves by constantly releasing a low frequency sound from the user which bounces off objects in it's path and reflects them back to the user. Virtually alerting him of the presence of said object/person/technique. I don't know about it's flaws though, other than the fact that using a sound jutsu against them would be very destructive. Genjutsu that alter the opponent's sense of hearing is also very effective.

Indeed, a flaw could include the fact that if someone uses an exploding tag, it could cause you a lot of damage as your hearing is greatly increased. Any form of explosion that happens close to you is actually dangerous, and can cause quite some damage to your ears. However, most opponent's wont even know about your enhancement as it can't be seen, unless with Doujutsu, which can see the chakra focused to your ears. Good though.

Description: A simple technique where the user touches an object and infuses it with sound chakra, enabling it to vibrate and produce a low frequency, high amplitude sound. The vibrations cause objects to bounce off of the targeted object which is highly useful when fighting with weapons or to make thrown basic weapons resist opposing thrown weapons.. It also resonates to the user if he were to be blind (because of a genjutsu for example), letting the the user know the objects position and what it deflects. It can also be applied to solid objects or structures the user may wish to destroy or, by applying it to the ground or similar, detect what is around him by making it resonate with the same low frequency. The object gets no added power, only the ability to deflect incoming objects that want to counter it.



Now this is a pretty cool technique, where you will infuse sound chakra into an object, allowing it to give off a specific frequency, as well as having other uses. Enlighten me on these. (its so tough writing so little xD).

It's a rather complicated technique, but very useful. As for it's other uses, it has way to many to mention them all, or even think of them. I can see it being used in a lot of ways, It is very similiar to Inner Sonnar, for the fact that the low frequency vibrations alert the user of an object which is around him; however on a much more selective and small range, given it only detects objects near the object being infused with this jutsu, unliker Inner Sonnar which is universal around the user. We can use it to destroy low ranked earth jutsu and other solid objects/attacks, even to make the opponent lose balance. Vibrate an explosive tag or sealing tag and rip it apart, etc.

One I think you'll like, where you will gather some Sound chakra around your arms, legs, or fists and make your way towards the opponent. When the opponent is hit, it releases sonic vibrations of low frequency and high amplitude, causing the area to be struck to not be used for a single turn. But yeah, expand on that.

Great jutsu, reminds of the clasic Hulk Sonic Clap. It's a destructive force no doubt. I know it's a defensive technique, very straightforward and easy to understand. However I do have one question, if i'm not wrong, we could use this to throw back the opponents as well right? It's not like the soundwaves would go around their body. Also usable to repel weapons and a good counter to "Shuriken Shadow Technique" which sends about 1000 projectile, this technique would repel all the ones short range infront of the user.

Sonic Fist has to be hands down, the best Sound jutsu we have. The techniques basically acts as an enhancement of sorts for our limbs and thus our body attacks. It can even shatter earth techniques and similiar surfaces. I like how it is based on messing with the water molecules inside the target, it goes well with Gyojin techniques which are based primarily on water molecule manipulation. I have one question about this one as well, can it be used in combination with Taijutsu techniques? Those that do not involve elemental usage of course. Such as using this with a B ranked "Heel Kick" for example: Making the heel be enhanced with the sound chakra, thus combining both jutsu and increasing the damage.

Now the very first Sound Genjutsu where you will focus Sound chakra to your hands, and snap your fingers. This triggers a Genjutsu, but I won't talk too much about it. I want you to elaborate.
First one is very simple and powerful. Nothing to comment on it other than it's fast speed and extensive reach up to Long range. I do believe it should be enough to repel solid attacks as well and break through some defenses. I have one question about it, how wide is it's range? It goes Long range, but to the sides just what is it's scope. If there is one.

Second one is a genjutsu, and a very powerful one too. Despite it's rank, it already seems more devastatingly powerful than even A rank regular Genjutsu. Simply because it's not a fixed scenerio, instead, the genjutsu allows us the users to manipulate the occurances to a certain degree while remaining within the same premise of something "snapping", "breaking" and "falling" over or around the target. We could even use it in a rocky terrain, where a boulder "breaks in half" and the target imagines these pieces falling down on them and being pushed into the ground. No questions.

This release a high frequency sound wave, which creates a faint buzzing sound in the opponent's ear, which builds up and later the only thing the opponent hears is this buzzing, like there are bees in his ears. (Ototon: Himei Zetsubou no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Scream of Despair Skill

The effect is a large emission of low frequency, high amplitude sound waves but instead of a forward attack, its manipulated into an omnidirectional sound blast that expands outwards all around the user, pushing attacks and enemies backwards with might.

A technique where you will concentrate your Sound chakra to your vocal cords, and amplify your voice in the form of a scream, a yell or a roar. This blasts out low frequency, high amplitude waves, which causes an omni-directional blast to manifest, and hit back the opponent.

As you pointed out sensei, pretty damn useful. It's a very reliable technique and easy to activate. The buzzing sound would drive many opponents mad with confusion. Specially useful against those who rely on their hearing instead of their sense of sight. There is really not much to comment on it given it's a simple supplementary technique however. But I do have one question, does this work on multiple opponents? and does it effect summonings as well?


Second technique is hardcore. Very destructive and graceful. The noise can be anything from a roaring scream to a delicate scream of fustration or any other emotion the character has in place. It's a technique made for those who like to roleplay in a fight, have some story and insight in the character's emotions really. I like how it's widespread in an omnidirectional manner, much more effective when being surrounded or facing more than 1 opponent.

Description: This is a much greater and focused version of the (Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill technique in which the user gathers his sound chakra into his throat as he inhales afterwards exhaling as he screams, yells or roars. The resulting effect is a massive forward shockwave of low frequency, high amplitude sound that levels anything in its path. Unlike its weaker technique, the massive power it carries makes it slightly slower, equal to an average equally ranked Raiton technique. Unlike the unfocused nature of its weaker version, its focused almost like a beam, affecting an area of 50º in front of the user. If used within a water source it receives +20 damage.



Another variation, where you will do the exact same thing you did with Echo Assault Skill, but this time, its more focused. Affecting a 50 degree area in front of you, almost like a beam, and also gains the +20 when used in a Water source.

You then slam your hands together, forcing them to resonate with each other, and the explode! This creates a massive Sound shock wave, that pushes back anything in front of you in a 160 degree blast.

Description: This is a much greater and focused version of the (Ototon: Hibiki Rendan no Jutsu) - Sound Release: Echo Assault Skill technique in which the user gathers his sound chakra into his throat as he inhales afterwards exhaling as he screams, yells or roars. The resulting effect is a massive forward shockwave of low frequency, high amplitude sound that levels anything in its path. Unlike its weaker technique, the massive power it carries makes it slightly slower, equal to an average equally ranked Raiton technique. Unlike the unfocused nature of its weaker version, its focused almost like a beam, affecting an area of 50º in front of the user. If used within a water source it receives +20 damage.



Another variation, where you will do the exact same thing you did with Echo Assault Skill, but this time, its more focused. Affecting a 50 degree area in front of you, almost like a beam, and also gains the +20 when used in a Water source.

The user will then slam both hands together, forcing them to resonate with each other and explode. This creates a massive sound shockwave that pushes back anything in front of the user in a 160º radius.

Alright, first one is lit. I think it is something similiar to Banshee scream underwater from XMEN. If so, I fully understand the effects of this technique, of course keeping in mind this isnt a mutant ability but an element. There aint much to comment on, given as you said, it's the same thing as Echo Assault with a more detailed and wider range. I like the "almost like a beam" bit specially. Seems to be on equal levels as an A rank lightning jutsu though, I don't know how I feel about that atm.

Second one is nice. Nothing diferent from all the other shockwaves of desctructive force, except that this one has the soundwaves at diferent frequencies, in other words, not compatible with each other. And yet, the user forces them to become a single one, which causes a much more bigger and explosive effect when releasing the crushing shockwave forward. Certainly a technique to deal some serious damage. No questions on either of them.

Description: The user charges Ototon chakra into their feet as they run, releasing it as each foot hits the earth and makes sound. As each steps sound off, low frequency waves are released, each wave causing an immense vibration to propagate through the ground and into any enemy, making their bodies lose balance as the waves collide with the target repeatedly. As the waves continue to hit the target, the vibrations increase and cause internal pain, almost as if each wave is drilling into the target's body, causing the target to also become nauseous from the continuous waves. Despite its danger, the technique can easily be defended by simply severing ones contact with the ground.



I think you'll like this one since you like close combat. As you run, you charge some Sound chakra into your feet and release it as you run. This causes low frequency waves to be released, and causes an immense vibration to run through the ground and through the opponent's body with each step. This causes internal pain and nausea to the opponent, as long as they are connected to the ground.

Description: Focusing sound chakra into ones limbs, the user is able to deliver massive taijutsu attacks that can shatter anything on contact, specially solid defenses. When used directly against an enemy, the blows damage the soft tissues of the target if used with a low frequency sound or the targets bones, if used with a high frequency sound. The vibrations don't produce any external effect, unlike what happens with (Ototon: Oto no Ken) - Sound Release: Sonic Fist technique, instead propagating into whatever is touched through direct contact. The user is free in which moves he will perform and can use virtually any stance he knows. However, because it produces no externalization of the vibrations, as the limbs are only infused with sound chakra and the vibrations happen in what is hit, the user cannot attack or defend from things that would otherwise hurt him like bladed weapons, etc.



Another Taijutsu based one, where you will focus Sound into one of your limbs and deliver a powerful hit that can cause quite some destruction. With low frequency waves, the soft tissue of the opponent is damaged and high frequency sound causes bones to be destroyed. Also, the focused Sound into a limb causes no external effect. So, pretty damn useful, kinda Luke Cage level type hits.
