Cool, let us begin with the most basic and fundamental question of all: What do you know of Sound Release? How does it behave in real life, and in the Narutoverse? Also, how will it influence or rather, compliment your fighting style? Offensive? Defensive or, Supplementary like myself.

Sound is basically a vibration that travels through mediums such as gases, liquids or solids and is received by an organisms auditory system, and then interpreted by the brain.
I.e if I scream an audible mechanical wave will be released that'll propagate through the air and upon reaching you the vibrations will be picked up by your ears, and interpreted as a scream by your cns, or something like that. (Bare science and shit)
Two important factors that determine the type of sound produced are the frequency and amplitude of the released mechanical wave. A wave of high frequency will produce a high pitched sound, and conversely a wave of low frequency will produce a low pitch sound. Similarly, a wave of high amplitude will produce a louder noise while that of a lower amplitude will produce a quieter one.

In NV Ninja are capable of reproducing sound waves through chakra, or enhancing those that they produce via their body or another source. This allows for a variety of attacks such as sound waves capable of causing physical destruction, or sound waves that can be used as a medium for genjutsu.
I will most likely be focusing on the prior in a more offensive manner, but most likely won't be neglecting the latter as it's a very efficient way of inducing an illusion.

Very good, its basically a lot of basic science that we learned Physical Science class. It is basically caused by vibrations as you said, and travels through mediums. It can't travel through a vacuum though. You covered frequency and amplitude, and there are also two types of sound waves, longitudinal and transverse waves. Though that isn't talked about tbh.

Now, Sound here in the RP, comes forth in three variants:

1. Destructive Sound Waves

2. Hindering Sound Waves

3. Genjutsu Inducing Sound Waves

Each of these have their own ways of causing damage. I actually thought of putting them like this. Destructive Sound Waves can cause physical damage to the opponent, so it's more the offensive/defensive one. Hindering Sound Waves can cause the opponent to be disoriented, and their effect is more mental, or supplementary in nature. Lastly, Genjutsu Inducing Sound Waves are used to induce a Genjutsu on an opponent through the use of frequencies, which is can be described as Offensive/Defensive and Supplementary based on what I have seen in customs and such.

What can you tell me about the strengths and weaknesses of Sound Release?

Since Sound techniques will generally use the air as their primary medium wind techniques can be particularly affective as they disrupt the medium and thus the incoming wave.
Placing physical barriers between you and the incoming sound wave (Such as walls of water or earth) can also be effective in the case of defending from Destructive Sound waves, but will largely prove ineffective against Hindering and Genjutsu inducing Sound Waves.
Sound is also effective against elements that form crystalline structures such as Ice or Crystal as the vibrations undermine the integrity of the structure.
For the most part fire and lightning will remain neutral to Sound release or simply won't interact with the sound wave at all.
Sound waves are also more effective in water (Since it's a denser medium that will transmit vibrations better) so the utilisation of water against sound can prove detrimental in some cases.
Sound is also capable of shattering earth depending on the technique in question.

Good, Wind is the only real weakness, whilst Earth could stop some sound waves, it can also be shattered by others. Sound is actually enhanced when it travels through Water, an odd one. For Lightning, its neutral as they don't really interact, whilst Fire actually makes the Sound faster, under the premise that when a particle has more energy, it moves faster. Sound is also weak to Gas based CE's, for the same reason as Wind, cause it disrupts the very medium it moves through. I remember though, that when a Sound technique does not explicitly state it can destroy Earth defenses, an Earth Defenses would work, relative to the rank of the Sound technique used. There are some techniques, where the Sound, in addition with Water, would add +20 damage, so there's some CJ potential right there.

Any questions on Strength and Weaknesses of Sound?

Coolio~

Here's just a little something from the Sound Master, Wesobi. He explains than I could, if I summarized it lol.

First of all, a frequency is measured in Hertz. A frequency in theory is how many waves pass a certain point in a certain amount of time. So, basically, the lower the interval, the higher the frequency.

Now, the cool thing is, adjusting the frequency. A higher frequency is a higher pitched tone, while a lower frequency is a lower pitched tone. If you listen to music and hear the bass, the frequency is lower. You can also feel it in your body a lot more than high frequency tones, because generally those are harder to perceive in the first place. The neat thing is, that this allows us to alter the effects of sound techniques by altering the frequency. That being said, you probably see how versatile sound actually can be, and how it can create different effects. Even if you can't hear something, the sound waves are still there and can still have effects on your body

humans can only hear certain frequencies, or a range in between 2 frequencies. Generally, this is about 20 - 20 000 Hertz. Now, as you grow older, your body gets older as well, and you start to have trouble hearing high frequency tones. This is why younger people generally hear a lot better than old people. I was wondering if you speak in a lower voice, if people with hearing problems would understand you better, but I'm unsure (though it makes sense).
This does not mean that higher/lower frequencies do not effect the body! Remember that!

About the ultrasonic: Ultrasonic are simply sounds above 20 kiloHertz (20 000 Hertz) and thus above what humans can actually perceive. Other animals, like dolphins and dogs can perceive these (think, the dog whistle). These range from 20 KiloHertz into several MegaHertz. This is also what they use for sonograms (you understand what this is?) and such. Infrasound is the opposite (below 20 hertz)

Oh, one more thing I'd like to add, and this is particularly useful against Mugi's Radio Frequency/Wave CE. Low frequency sound waves generally move easier through rocks/earth than higher frequency ones. Think about your cellphone, when you move through a tunnel, the reception sucks.

Now, realize that sound can move through any medium. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise! Though we needs some sort of limitations, and it's reasonable to say wind is a good counter to sound if it can be seen (doujutsu) or heard, but at that point it might be too late (depending on how a technique is used and how the effects are). Earth, however, depending on the situation (and the level of understanding of the usage by the opponent) can be a devastating counter as well.
Now, look below:

-Speed of sound:
solid > liquid > gas.

Sound moves fastes of all through solids. Generally, this is because the particles and atoms in earth are more tightly packed than they are in liquids or gas. So, the closer the atoms/molecules, the faster sound moves.

- Elastic properties
There is a catch in between different solids. Sound moves faster through rigid solids (i.e. steel, iron) than other things like jelly. This is because solids that are rigid generally mean that the atoms and molecules have a much stronger force of attraction towards each other than in other solids. This is because of the fact that, once moved, they move back to their original position/form more quickly (and thus resulting in a much higher vibration speed). jelly in this case has much weaker attraction between the molecules, that's why it's so "elastic" (not to be confused with elastic properties), and much more flexible.

- Density
Next to this, there is the density. Now, more dense substances = more mass. More mass=bigger molecules. Because sound is based on kinetic energy that travels from one point to another, moving through denser objects means it has to use more energy, seeing as it has to move (vibrate) larger molecules. This however is used for substances with the same elastic properties.

To explain this take two examples with nearly the same elastic properties. Gold and aluminum (Gold = 10.8 psi; aluminum = 10 psi). While they nearly have the same elastic properties, gold is much denser, so it will travel faster through aluminum than gold.

Another funny thing is, this effect does not quite work the same in gaseous media.

Let's say it's hot hot hot in one side of the room, and cold cold cold in the other side. The logic explanation is that sound would move faster in the cold air (since it's denser), but that isn't the case!

Heat, like sound is a source of kinetic energy. More heat = More kinetic energy = more energy for the sound. This leads up to the fact that they can vibrate faster in hot air.
Now, since that is quite straightforward, and easy to understand, we'll start off. I'll post the technique we are going through, and explain it briefly, and you will give me an analysis of the technique which includes how you would use it, its strengths and weaknesses etc. Anything you feel is relevant to say about the technique overall. Most techniques are simple.

Rank: D
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short-Long
Chakra Cost: 10 (-1 per turn)
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user will enhance their hearing by infusing his ears with sound chakra. Then, by utilizing chakra and enfacing his lungs, the user will be able to control the frequency and intensity of the sound emitted from his simple breathing. This low frequency, inaudible sound is passively emitted and has no effect other than emerging from him and bouncing off of objects. Using the enhanced hearing, the user is able to know where everything is around them, effectively creating a sonar effect through the rebound and reflection of sound waves. The hearing and the sonar effect is precise enough so that one can effectively use it to substitute one's vision in battle if needed. Despite being very effective, specially if the user has any of his other senses hindered, it also leaves the opponent vulnerable to sound genjutsu or sound attacks which will be much more drastic in its effects.
Note: Lasts 6 turns

The first technique, where you will enhance your hearing by infusing your ears with Sound based chakra. You will then utilize your chakra, to be able to control frequency and intensity of the sound, which is emitted from breathing (thus its passive). The inaudible sound is emitted, and serves to work like a sonar, bouncing off objects and allows you to hear them, with your enhanced hearing. Its so precise, even if you were blind, you could use this to "see" #ShoutOutBlindLili

However, this makes you susceptible to loud sounds, and Sound genjutsu, which will be more drastic. Bad ass technique to use at the start of a fight.

You basically did my job for me.
._.
As you said, it works like a sonar by using the noise produced by your breathing as a source of sound waves that will bounce off of and reflect from nearby objects, and through your enhanced hearing you'll notice the differences and gain understanding of where things are - like a bat.
Strengths is basically that it becomes much harder to catch you unaware. Sneak attacks that you otherwise may not be able to hear would be audible or at least locatable through use of this technique. Furthermore, being able to locate and discern attacks faster will greatly increase your response time, allowing for greater efficiency in battle when it comes to defending and counter-attacking.
Weaknesses is as you, and the technique itself says - that because of your enhanced hearing you'll be more susceptible to sound based genjutsu/hindering sound waves.
Also if you were to be trapped in a solid barrier the effectiveness of this technique would be limited, as you wouldn't be able to sense what's happening outside. I.e a thick earth dome would limit the earth effect, or I could trap someone in a sphere of Kiyoshi energy.

I'm sorry ;-;

But that was very good, and indeed. Mugi actually has an enhanced A rank version of that technique >_> Nonetheless, let's move on. I'll try and be more brief, so you can do more work lol. Explain the next technique to me, how you understand it, and how you would use it, with strengths and weaknesses too.

Rank: B
Type: Supplementary
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage points: N/A
Description: A simple technique where the user touches an object and infuses it with sound chakra, enabling it to vibrate and produce a low frequency, high amplitude sound. The vibrations cause objects to bounce off of the targeted object which is highly useful when fighting with weapons or to make thrown basic weapons resist opposing thrown weapons.. It also resonates to the user if he were to be blind (because of a genjutsu for example), letting the the user know the objects position and what it deflects. It can also be applied to solid objects or structures the user may wish to destroy or, by applying it to the ground or similar, detect what is around him by making it resonate with the same low frequency. The object gets no added power, only the ability to deflect incoming objects that want to counter it.

Alright this technique basically allows the user to infuse an object with sound chakra so that it'll emit a low pitched, loud noise that basically deflects other incoming weapons/objects. Presumably the released vibrations serve to repel the object, kind of like how if you put a piece of paper on a horizontal speaker it'll bounce up and down depending on how much bass it has/how loud it's playing.
Furthermore it has a detection system somewhat similar to the Sonar skill.
It's strengths basically lie in it's utility, however in this case people will probably catch Minato syndrome if you were to ever use this technique on a throwing weapon. (Where they annihilate the weapon with a super high ranked technique instead of just throwing their own for some invented reason or another) I can however see this technique being really effective in certain situational scenarios where you need to protect an object from coming into contact with another for whatever reason.
It doesn't really have any weaknesses from what I can see, only limitations set by it's rather humble rank and the fact that the noise produce won't actually add damage, but nonetheless it's a good technique which I can see myself using. o-o

Very good, man. The item can be seen vibrating, which allows the opponent to probably deduce a Sound based technique being used, but eh. It can also be applied to a sword, which makes it even more bad ass (repel another sword). So overall, can be used for both close range (with a weapon) or long range (thrown projectiles). Let's move on.

Rank: B
Type: Defensive
Range: Short
Chakra Cost: 20
Damage Points: N/A
Description: The user charges Ototon chakra into the palms of their hands, and then smashes them together. The force creates high frequency sound waves which can be used to disperse incoming "solid" jutsu (only works on B-Rank or below jutsu) like those of Water Release or Earth Release.

Next technique is quite simple, where you will charge your Sound based chakra into the palms of your hands, and smash them together. This smashing of the Sound chakra, creates high frequency Sound waves which can be used to disperse solid techniques (up to B rank and below) of Earth and Water nature. Like I said before, this technique states it can destroy up to B rank Earth, so a rank higher, would be unaffected and can be used as a defense.

So basically the high frequency waves released serve to undermine the integrity of incoming solid/liquid structures and well, shatter them into minuscule pieces. Basically slick, clean destruction.
It's strengths and weaknesses are pretty self-explanatory. It's effective against solid techniques below B rank, and ineffective against those of higher rank or of an intangible or lacklustre consistency, such as wind, lightning or fire.
