I dont know exactly if it was the Scariest experience of my life or not since reality is itself the scariest thing which we have to face.
Anywayz coming back to the point. When i was a kid. I used to have Some really wicked dreams. probably my early childhood fears.
Yeah dreams in which i DIE. I've had so many such dreams during my childhood. It was like experiencing a fear in the most unrealistic way. But believe me. The fear was Real. There was a time when i was so scared that i tried to avoid sleep. Sleep itself became a fear.. The mere thought of getting into such dreams petrified the shit outta me. Those were some really bad days of my life.
And in one dream i got shot. And then died. The funny thing is whenevr i used to die(in the dream) i would usually wake up. Or find myself into another wicked dream :| (yeah . that things makes me laugh sometimes :|)
I do remember a few of them. Although its been more than 9 years now.. And i dont get such dreams now. Actually i dont get dreams at all now >,> dont know why though <,<

running away from Reality again are you? you have no idea how wrong you are, while it is true that losing someone who is important to you is painful you have no choice but to accept the Fact that they are gone if you can't accept the Truth and think that you're better off dead then you have a very weak will and you're just running away from Reality like a Coward, a person that accepts the Truth sees Reality for what it truly is and as long as a person accepts that their loved one is dead they use can the pain that comes after the realisation to make themselves and their will stronger and as long that they know that there's always another reason to keep on living then they will keep on pushing on ahead and endure and overcome whatever hardships that they will face also a person can still keep their love ones even alive as long as they keep them and their memories in their heart, also all humans are destined to die one day also i will say to what Nyx once said to SEES here is what Nyx said 'it matters not who you are Death awaits you.' if you can't accept this Universal Truth then you are just running away both Life and Reality like a Coward, this is yet but another Universal Truth another part of Reality that can not be denied.
Facing reality is harsh and frightening. But once met, the world becomes alot grimmer as it was originally pictured by the mainstream. One does not have to look far to meet them. Having lost someone who was dearly to you is hard but that's only a fraction of the whole picture, trust me. The moment you face man's brutality, that's the moment your indoctrinated world gets upended.

What you make of it after that experience is up to you. But I can assure you, you'll look past those blinkers of yours. And with that, you'll think more rationally about your decisions awaiting you. With decisions I mean everything you do/say/see/ ...

Facing a loss, from then on, will be more tolerable. But therefore not less painful.

OT: No offence but there are alot of children here from what I've read.

When you fall asleep you body parts are usually in rest except vital organs like heart etc.
When you get interrupted from a REM sleep suddenly your unable to move your body for a while due to it.

It is indeed scary when you experience it.
This happened to me U_U
What made it even more scary is the dream. In the dream I crashed a car and when I woke up my left hand was actually in the position to hold the wheel and right to shift gears. I was in that position for a few minutes, not being able to move. I actually thought that I might be paralysed.

So, I have this weird phobia, I think it's called masklophobia. At any rate, for those of you that don't know, a phobia is an irrational intense fear of something. Masklophobia is the phobia of mascots or masks. I'm deathly afraid of mascots. My mascot is seriously a f/king red blob or terror.

So when I was four I was in kindergarten. Big Red (The mascot) came to my school, since my elementary school was in the same town as my university. All the kids were allowed to go down to the floor and give this guy a hug. He's made out of fleece or something - at least that's what I'm told- so he's really soft. So I go down there and this...thing... opens his mouth and eats a basketball and then proceeds to gobble my teacher. Of course, he can't really eat them...but at this point I'm terrified that this thing is going to eat me and not spit me out.

So I decide to swallow my fear and give this thing a hug, and he tries to eat me. I'm four years old. I'm in something elses's mouth. I scream, cry and run clear out of the building. I have hated Big Red and have had a phobia of ALL mascots ever since. I didn't even know that I had developed a phobia of mascots until 14 years later, when I took my girlfriend to a baseball game. This monkey mascot jumped out in front of me and I screamed bloody murder and passed out because it tried to touch me. My girlfriend carried me back to my seat.

What is that anyway?
It's when the muscles in the body are paralysed during REM, nobody really knows why they're shut off though.

I've experienced and I certainly didn't find it frightening, quite interesting actually.

But coming close to death as much as I have, few things in life are scary any more.

Scariest experience of my life. Um...Almost being kidnapped twice and also I was part of an accident where my family got severely injured. The waiting for the ambulance to arrive felt like days.

IED in Afghanistan hit the lead vehicle in my first convoy. When you feel the explosion in your chest and dirt is hitting your vehicle forty yards back it's pretty ****ing scary. Then there's the thought of "Oh shit these dudes aren't answering their coms. Holy shit they're ****ing dead!" (They all lived) Mortars aren't that scary. Getting shot at just pissed me off because I could shoot back. That first IED strike though was the closest I've ever been to literally shitting my pants.
Second scariest had to have been when I got hit playing football and I felt my back crack all the way up my spine and I wasn't able to move. I seriously thought I was paralyzed for a few moments. Then I was able to move my feet and just waited for them to cart me off the field. Could barely move for two weeks but at least I was able to finish out the season.
