This year's eighth issue of Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine is unveiling on Monday the full list of Naruto epilogue novels with short previews of the stories each novel will contain.


The first novel, Naruto - Kakashi Hiden: Hyōten no Ikazuchi (Naruto - Kakashi Hidden Legend: Lightning of the Frozen Sky), will ship in Japan on February 4. The story revolves around Hatake Kakashi, who is melancholy despite his new position as the Sixth Hogake. In addition, an incident has occurred in the new peaceful, orderly ninja world. The novel is being penned by Akira Higashiyama.

Shikamaru Hiden is hinted to feature a battle between Shikamaru and the "strongest genjutsu-user." Akatsuki Hiden is listed to reveal the "truth of the Akatsuki," and features images of Deidara, Kisame, Kakuzu, and Hidan. Gaara Hiden is hinted to be a story of love, something the Kazekage does not know very well,
The preview for Sakura Hiden hints that the result of Sakura's feelings will be revealed, and finally, Konohagakure Hiden will look at the other ninja in Konoha and what happened to them "after the original manga." The preview image shows Shino, Kiba, and Rock Lee.

Beginning in February, one volume of the Hiden novel series will be released per month. The full list of novels and release dates is as follows:

Kakashi Hiden ('hiden' means 'secret legend') - February 4
Shikamaru Hiden - March
Akatsuki Hiden - April
Gaara Hiden - June
Sakura Hiden - July
Konohagakure Hiden - August
Kishimoto had said in an interview last month that he will still have other work left to do in the Naruto franchise until next summer, so he will not begin preparing his next non-Naruto title in earnest until after that. A new film following [Highlight white text to read spoilers] Naruto and Hinata's son Bolt and Sasuke and Sakura's daughter Sarada will open in August.

He's already admitted that arguably the most relevant character in the manga, Sasuke, wasn't his idea. It's laughable to state he told the story by himself.

Well even the present Naruto wasnt his idea.He was originally supposed to be working in a ramen shop and turn into kyuubi at will.Even the chunnin exam arc was not his idea.
But still he wrote what he wrote taking inputs from editors whereas in the movie its the opposite sotry.Pierott wrote the story and he gave inputs on it

BTW Sasuke being most relevant is not arguable.He is the sole reason Naruto became stronger in the first place

Meh. That scarf shit and the 2 year timeskip are both things that Kishimoto forced on the movie team. It probably would have been infinitely better if Kishimoto stayed as far the **** away as possible, outside of checking inconsistentci- oh wait, he doesn't even do that shit in his own manga. The only flashback that can be attributed to SP is that whole classroom scene, and even that was trying to fit into the whole "last day" theme.

The whole movie was written by Pierott while Kishi only made minor changes to it like the scarf shit which ironically Hinata is still knitting after beign married to Naruto.Thats why his translation says "Connected to the manga as much as possible" not entirely and the reason why the most important NH moment being the handhold wasnt referenced in the movie

Shipping became the most important thing in Naruto at the end.I am now questioning its shonen status after Gaara has a love story too Lol
