what is the best def? sasuno or rotation? and if sasuno used arrow on rotation would it hit the user of rotation or the rotation would remove it?

They are both good and powerful defenses, thought they both have there strengths and weaknesses.

Susanoo
strengths:
1)Surrounds the user with a powerful layer of chakra
2)Protects from all types of attacks
3)can also use offensive abilities while defending the user at the same time

weaknesses:
1)anything with sufficent force can break through it
2)the user is vulnerable from attacks from below.
3)extended use drains the users chakra
4)exended use will cause the users sight to deteriorate

Rotation
strengths:
1)completely surrounds the user in a dome-shaped wall of chakra
2)protects the user from all types of attacks from all angles while simultaneously repelling them and possibly any attackers within the dome's area of circumference
3)the size and power of the dome can be adjusted at will to meet the situation

weaknesses:
1)requires the user to rotate in order for it to work
2)extended use drains the users chakra
3)anything with sufficient force may cause the rotation to backfire though it will likely repel the other opposing force as well
4)it is possible that certain attacks that can rotate in the opposite direction might be able to penetrate it, though it must be powerful enough (ex: chou odoma rasengan)

really? how about kidoumaru's golden arrow then? susanoo arrow is at least as strong as that and wat did rotation do to it? nothing , cause neji, a genius knew it wud'nt stop it!:flaw:
Its because kidomaru found a way to keep Neji himself from using rotation by stopping him from rotating all together that Neji didn't use it. He was also running low on chakra at that time. Then there was also the fact that Kidomaru could guide the arrow into Neji's blind spot so that he couldn't see it coming and use rotation against it.

As a defence, susanoo is better since it stays active and gives the user more freedom. I'm willing to bet a strong enough rotation could deflect an arrow though, considering danzo's makeshift wood style could.

Susano is the better defence no question asked. As for the susano arrow, i believe it will impale the user of kaiten. If you go back to neji's fight against kidomaru you'd know the answer. There are two things.

Firstly susano arrow is one of the fastest attacks in the series and very hard to evade. We saw that kidomaru's attack (Kumo Senkyu: Suzaku) was too fast for neji to react in time to use rotation;

Lets say he reacts in time and uses rotation. Due to the speed at which susano's arrow is fired, but also due to his physical prowess, i believe it will get past rotation and impale neji no different to this;

Neji uses rotation but that wasnt enough;

Bare in mind that susano arrow > Kumo Senkyu: Suzaku
