When you actually think about it....he did kill him....he put a chidori right through him......but he achieved his powers the cheap way...sasuke said something like: i do not want to achieve power like my brother (referring through killing his best friend), i'm gonna do it my way....
or something like that....idk
you know what....i think sasuke is the all-seeing.....he predicted that naruto won't die from that hit xd
& I think this is all about those parts of the story which r not revealed yet

Well there were 2 parts to So6p....the eyes and the body....The body belonging to the Senju....which the Uzimaki clan is a distant relative of....and the Uchiha is of the eyes.....you're you could be right....unless Sasuke pops up with the Rinnegan....it's gonna be all wrong......
A few problems with this theory.

He stopped Kisame from fighting Jiraiya because he knew that Jiraiya would kill them both....and besides.....Akatsuki were only after the Bijuu's....so of course no one got hurt unless you were a jin-nin.
