What do you know about his thinking when he never told what he was thinking to Team 7 members?
First he only want to destroy Konoha but after he knew the right thing he change his focus to world politic/problem(Bijuu and Governments). Village was not the problem but who lead the village was the problem for Sasuke.

It makes a lot of sense. Sasuke knew that as long as there are equal forces, those forces will try to knock the other down this creating the inevitable fifth war. Many arguments for a war could be, a Konoha Ninja killing half of every village. Or, the ideas that Naruto and Sasuke should equally distribute power throughout the villages.
Sasuke would have become the unequal force that the equal force banded together to kill. Without Naruto or Gai, that would've been completely impossible, and Casualties would be minimized. In the event that any petty border wars did break out, Sasuke has the ability to single handed end them without opposition. By killing the current leaders, it would give them reason to hate Sasuke, and an opportunity to fully reform each village. The only problem that would've arised would be the arrival of Momoshiki and Kinshiki, which would've been averted by Sasuke using the Bijuu.
In the end, his only miscalculation was that he would be able to beat Naruto and still be in any condition to carry out his plan.

OT: Sasuke's revolution did made sense, he planning for a new world without Ninjutsu or Shinobi. Whatever he plan, so you might did not understand what his revolution meant.

We don't know how Naruto and Sasukes current system of doing things managed to find peace.
Im my opinion the current kages respect Narutos ambition enough after he helped save them in the war. However if that's the case, don't you think the world will eventually turn back into turmoil after he and Sasuke meet their maker?
Eventually people will start fighting again it's basic human nature. Especially since the world is progressing into a more modern age more wars will be fought over resources and politics just like today.
So the current peace is most likely only temporary like Sasuke once said it would be.

I always took the revolution talk from Sasuke to fall in line with his typical behavior after getting a power-up. Each time, he gets over confident and often over estimates his own powers. Remember his attack on the gokage following getting MS? His plan was to kill all the Kages there and that didnt work out. 3 of the five kages had a shot at killing him if not for help from others. I didnt see a lot different in Sasuke's plan vs. Tobi or Madara apart from using IT. Sasuke would be the ruler of a real world vs. Madara/Tobi ruling a dream world. Additionally, Sasuke is convinced he can achieve immortality but by what means is he going to do this? Full disclosure, I'm not convinced in Naruto's plan as it largely mirrors Sasukes plan with the exception of killing the Gokage. Naruto just has the Leaf pretty much dictate terms as he is powerhouse in the NV now.
