Sasuke's personality? Which one is it?

I cannot really understand what's on his mind. What's his personality. His face and expression and such doesn't change at all.

In manga he's descrbed as serious, smart genious with outstanding abilities and thinking.

At the same time, he's unpleasant and retarded.

With expressions like " I don't need your help guys" after getting his ass kicked and saved, I don't think he's that smart.

Noone is rushing, Raikage is analysing his abilities and attacking, eventhough he seemed very short tempered. Now we see all calm and tough Sasuke acting like a child, getting saved by his babydaddy again.

He's said to be smarter than Naruto, but people, have you ever seen Naruto saying: "**** off I don't need your help" When someone saved him? He at least listens to some of his mature subordinates.

So which one is it? Does he just have a "retarded personality"?
Is he just a dumb over confident kid, who's been given power and is trying to act cool?
Or is he really a smart genious ninja with outstanding abilities who just makes some mistakes?

If Kishi is trying to make him "cool" and strong, he shouldn't overdo it...

i agree. Sasuke is acting like Sai in terms of his emotions (though Sai is relearning to engage his own emotions) even though his hate drives everything he does. Powerful motivator, though.

I never really understood Sasuke's behavior myself.. I think he's submerged in revenge n hate
I never really understood his power ups either.. Like Naruto when he learned rasengan.. he went through such hard training n same with FRS.. on the other hand Sasuke just shows up with chidori in Chunnin exams.. same thing after time skip.. he was all powered up whn staying with oro.. n now all of a sudden his chakra is more darker n colder then before... caz of revenge n hate.. lol... so he is supposedly more stronger.. wat BS is this.. kishi needs to b more realistic with how he powers up sasuke.. not just darker chakra giving him more power... naruto goes through hellish training to get powered up.. so sasuke shud b shown doing something in order to gain power.. even though he is considered a genius.. even they need to train to get new powers.. I want to c sasuke making some effort to gain power.. rahter then Itachi transplanting or learning forbidden techniques from oro??

Sasuke just always acted like a grown teenage man child after Itachi mind f#$%ed him so dont mix that up with naruto's normal course of aging. Also naruto was always a thinker he was an still is unpredictable not because he does random crap but just because he thinks in a way that is not considered normal. Also naruto ALWAYS use to "act" cool before getting owned but so did sasuke. They havn't actually changed that much really if you think about it. Sasuke still mite be mad at naruto for jumpin in the garra fight even so taka has to get use to that.

I wouldn't really consider that as a sign that he's stupid. That's just a sign of arrogance. Which, he is. He's lived his whole life being told that he was weak by the people whose opinions really mattered to him. So, when someone has to save him, he thinks that's a sign of weakness on his part, which upsets him and that's how he reacts...

Self-sacrifice for a greater purpose, like establishing peace in a world, torn by wars, near-constant conflict is a bad thing? These countries rely on entire military villages to decide their politics and even control huge portions of their economy. It's time to create a new age. Greed, fuelled by money and power-lust isn't worth the lives of innocent men and women, after seeing the world through the eyes of people like Nagato, and Sasuke, Naruto understands that he needs to change things.

Similarly, he's looking past things like his own pride, in order to create such a world. Naruto isn't the sort of character that would do something like that. Hell, even from the very start of the series, when he refused to treat Konohamaru differently to anyone else simply because he was the Third's grandson, was an example of this. He doesn't put it aside lightly, he understands the importance of preventing another Ninja World War.
Gaara, on the otherhand, sees it as a petty unnecessary distraction. Both are equally valid views.

Yeah you're right, he tries to not give a sheit about his teammater, but do you remember a flashback that happened to him during his fight with 8 tails? He compared himself with kakashi who cared for his team, If I remember correctly.

So I think he already has some bond.. formed
