This is something I observed while streaming a forum and I had to give it a voice or thread if you will as in my opinion was one of the most epic theories out there. I give complete credit to Blinx-182. In my opinion, his theories make complete sense and could be the answer as to why Sasuke is able to surpass what you would normally think to be his limit.
I used to think the Sharingan had it's origin in the Hyuga clan, and the Sharingan is a genetic mutation of the byakugan. This changed when the 10 tails was revealed:

From there, I constructed more theories, which I'll get to. Some people commonly say it's a combination of the Rinnegan and Sharingan. I see no real reason to think that unless I want the Rinnegan to be a part of everything, and I frankly don't. One theory is that the Sage is controlling the beast with his eyes. Similar to

, the Rinnegan appears in the beast's eye to symbolize the control of the Sage. That's sounds credible at first, but there's a problem: It wasn't stated, or even implied anywhere that the Rinnegan can control beasts, at least through genjutsu. People are quick to use Nagato and his animals as an example, at which point I'd just remind them that said animals are actually dead, and Nagato confirmed that his control was due to suppressing them with his own chakra, thanks to the rods from the Gedo Mazo summon:

I don't see any rods in the picture of the Sage and 10 tails. The method the Sharingan uses to control beasts is hypnosis [genjutsu] and also a method of suppressing chakra, which can be done even on humans. The eye of the 10 tails seems to be the beast's own eye, and has nothing to do with the Sage. It's overlapping tomoe and rings; effectively 3 sharingan in one. After Madara mentioned that the Uchiha are descendants of the Sage's elder son, I theorized that the Uchiha bloodline limit and chakra are from the 10 tails, instead of the Sage himself. The theory is that by having the beast's chakra inside himself for a certain amount of years, his genes are influenced by it, and some of the qualities and chakra were passed on to his children. Some examples [In a sense] of this can be Naruto, Killer Bee, and Gaara. Gaara still has control over sand after his beast was removed. Any evidence of this relies soley on Sasuke and Madara Uchiha, though I admit certain aspects make them unique examples; I believe they're the closest a human can get to the 10 tails. Before moving on, let's also remember that having such chakra caused the sage to be recognized as a god by humans.

And that was just part one. Sasuke and Madara were noted by the 9 tailed fox--a piece of the 10 tails's chakra-- as having even more sinister chakra.

The reason of that is yes, the influence of the tails's chakra on the Uchiha.
Mangekyo Sharingan and the 10 tails
Another part composed of parallells. The Mangekyo Sharingan has been shown doing things that can be considered borderline godly. The chakra of the 10 tails is noted for it's malice and strength/quantity. This has been seen in nearly every tailed beast and recently, Sasuke Uchiha. Sasuke has no tailed beast, yet he has something that can be called a tailed beast without a tail: Susanoo. The Sage was revered as a god for having such chakra. Susanoo on the other hand, is a materialization of it's user's chakra, and labeled as a god. Well imagine that. A shinobi absorbs the powerful chakra of a being, and he's called a god by the people. A powerful technique, whose chakra seems to be from the same source, is called a god as well? The Mangekyo Sharingan jutsu are named after or relating to god

Amaterasu can burn anything in the user's field of vision, is hot enough to resist rain, and can control the weather in the sense that it can artificially induce storm clouds.
Tsukuyomi is a genjutsu that allows the user to control the victim's impression of space and time, captivating them for can seem like days in just a second.
Susanoo summons what is effectively a tailed beast without a tail--A materialization of powerful chakra, which boasts great attack and defense power. Kamui causes space to collapse and swallow objects. Madara has a jutsu that may have kept him alive, which may be his phasing jutsu or psuedo-Kamui jutsu. The Sharingan at it's orginal form can track movements, predict them, control animals, and even people. A recently unveiled Sharingan derived dojutsu called Izanagi, even allows someone to control their own reality, nullifying any damage they would receive in battle. If they were to be struck by a fatal attack, they'd live.

It makes that much sense to me. If that doesn't seem convincing enough, Madara claims that absorbing the 10 tails's chakra will allow him to captivate everyone in a genjutsu. It just so happens that this genjutsu, is Mangekyo Sharingan based.

God-like power. A Mangekyo Sharingan genjutsu and the chakra of the 10 tails will give Madara control over everyone, effectively making him a "god", like the Sage before him. Even the normal Sharingan can manipulate people and creatures through genjutsu. Like I said, where is all this power coming from? Is it really such a big coincidence that a Mangekyo Sharingan genjutsu and a seemingly god-like creature go hand in hand with a man's plan to control everything? It's as if the 10 tails is some sort of fountain that holds the keys to existence. Strangely enough, the Rinnegan is claimed to be the tool of heaven [Likely because the Sage rescued the world from the 10 tails], and it's user claimed to be a god [What is it with Rinnegan users and god?]. Yet, the Sharingan is continually revealed to have jutsu named after gods with unbelievable power. The supposedly supreme dojutsu, somehow isn't the one with powers named after gods, or the one implied to be needed to control everyone.
Moving on with Susanoo, it's almost like Naruto's biju transformations now that I've given it some thought.

When using the fox's chakra in 4 tails, Naruto's flesh is burned off. However, the fox's ability immediately heals him. He ends up in a loop where cells are constantly destroyed and created: accelerated cell division. Because of this, Naruto's natural lifespan is shortened whenever he uses the chakra up to 4 tails [And presumably beyond]. Susanoo was mentioned to shorten natural lifespan. When noting the pain he recieved from using Susanoo even in an imperfect state, Sasuke remarked that every cell in his body was strained:
