I was watching part 1 of the Naruto anime (because it's awesome) but something has been irking me since I first saw it. The first time we see Sasuke's chidori, it is preceded by Sasuke showing off his ridiculous new taijutsu and speed. Then eventually Gai is like, why would Kakashi teach him Lee's techniques if they didn't work for Lee, but then he realizes the reason and says "oh it's a physical activation". I honestly don't get how running around really fast and then running up a wall activates the Chidori. I guess my real question is, was Sasuke's new found speed just one more way that kishi shows us how Sasuke is a 'genius' and doesn't have to exert effort for more than a couple minutes to do anything?

(By the way I'm honestly not trying to hate on Sasuke, it just seems like sometimes kishi goes out of his way to make Sasuke better than everyone else, but I do have to say, Sasuke's eyes are awesome but there is just NO way that eyes could increase your physical speed, its just physically inconceivable.)

the whole speed/fighting style was supposedly cause chidori is an assasination move, similar to running to stab someone for a fast kill. (i think that was it)

well since naruto go boosted because of 9tails chakra he had to boost sasuke otherwise their gap would be great and what you said about trying to prove he is a genius.... like kanye

Well it wasn't the running fast that made the chidori happen, he still has to use the jutsu and do some hand signs I think. It is just that he has to move that fast if he wants it to be a useful attack. That was the problem with Naruto's original rasengan, Naruto was slow and so his large sweeping motion was easy to counter so the rasengan was useless to Naruto. Fortunately Naruto can make like a trillion clones and just fake someone out, or he can be a man and take a kunai to the hand so he can use the rasengan.

At least that is how it used to be when Naruto was slow and Sasuke didn't have his other variations of chidori. My point was that the running very fast was only necessary to prevent the opponent from easily escaping it.

And yes it does seem kind of dumb that the sharingan can just copy body movement and the way chakra is used in addition to copying hand seals and memorizing jutsus but Kishi needed Sasuke to be able to level up like Naruto I guess.

Fortunately while Sasuke could copy speed and movements and chakra levels needed for that, he couldn't maintain it for as long because his body was not trained for it and so he used more chakra to increase his speed than if he had just trained physically.

Sasuke is an Uchiha, he was introduced as a genius and he's the main character's rival, what would you expect?
