Sasuke fought well . he broke tsukiyomi , effectively used oro substitution style to counter ametetasu , matched him during the shrurken exchange . however itachi didn't have intent to kill. and sasuke had no answer for susanoo ! that being said itachi said sasuke had potential to surpass him . and in some ways he has.
