Chunin exam finals Sasuke (1 tomo sharingan) versus chunin exam finals Neji.

IMO I find the fight a difficult one because I see both as just not landing any hits on eachother for 90% of the fight. Naruto won predominantly due to the brute force provided by Kyuubi allowing him to contest palm rotation and Neji's defense in general but I'm skeptical as to whether or not Sasuke's chidori is sufficient in landing a blow on Neji.
I put Sasuke extremely high diff because I have doubts as to whether or not Neji has the speed to put Sasuke under enough pressure to land a single hit even if he only has 1 tomo.

It's definitely close. I'll go with Sasuke high diff. With his sharingan and speed he would be able to dodge Neji's GF really well. He also has decent mid-long range ninjutsu like katon to combat the close range GF, as well as shuriken jutsu. Rotation would be the biggest obstacle, it would most likely be able to deflect katon, shuriken jutsu, and possibly even chidori. It does have a lag time afterwards though, and sasuke is very intelligent. I think he would be able to bait it out with ranged attacks, and go in for the kill right as rotation ends with chidori or another technique.

He had 2-Tomoe first of all.

Second of all this match has been done to death and it's already been established that Sasuke wins as not a single Neji supporter can give a valid reason for why he takes this match.

Portrayal/Hype: Sasuke overcame Gaara, the monster of the current gen. Naruto fought on par with Neji and defeated him, yet still envied the same Sasuke.

Feats: Sasuke's raw speed is above Neji's at this point as he can outspeed Gaara's Sand. Sasuke's reflexes are above Neji's at this point due to being faster or as fast as him in his normal state with having Sharingan as an added bonus for reading opponent's movements. Chidori>Gaara's Sand=Rotation. Sasuke's speed>Enhanced Naruto's speed, which is the speed that forced Neji into an incomplete Rotation.

Sasuke is faster, stronger and has the destructive power to pierce Rotation.

So the match ends with Sasuke charging in and piercing Rotation with Chidori and skewering Neji's heart. Mid-high diff at worst for him. Based on how he did Gaara, Neji is not giving him a harder fight no matter how you try and play it.

CS2 Sasuke>>CS1 3-T Sasuke>3-T Sasuke>SRA Neji>CE Sasuke>Every other version of Neji>Every other version of Sasuke

Neji would win. Lee felt that he needed to open the third gate and up to beat Neji which means that his weightless speed isn't good enough to get the job done which means that Neji should keep up with him just fine and IIRC Neji has either the same speed stat or a higher speed stat then Sasuke did at the time. And to add to it Sasuke can't use Lee's speed for to long as he'll tire out since his body isn't use to it thus giving the speed advantage to Neji. Neji is better when it comes to Taijutsu and with Kaiten he can stop any hits that Sasuke might land on him so Sasuke is fighting an uphill losing battle for the most part. Sasuke's only shot at winning is Chidori but thanks to Kaiten Neji can stop Sasuke from reaching him. Eventually Neji gets overwhelmed

This match depends on wat happends when Sasuke pierces Kaiten which it will do since Chidori failed to get repelled by Rasengan which is much more focused than Rotation. Imagine Gaara's sand as a spinning dome of sand in this panel instead of stationary.

What would happen to the unbreached portion of spinning sand when the breached area only encompasses a hand sized breach through a small area of it as it did the stationary sand?

Would that hand sized hole halt the Rotation of sand , or would the unbreached portion of spinning sand continue its rotation beyond the breached area.

Well, it depends on the momentum of Sasuke's arm. If it it is strong enough then it can go all the way through and hit its target. If not, then Chidori would obviously be redirected due to the force of the spinning sand that is applied on the parts of his arm that is not covered with Lighting. However, is Neji's Chakra expulsion as strong as Gaara's sand? Also, don't you think that there is a possibility of being an explosion from Chakra clash similar to this?

Its not about whether its strong enough or not. Its about whether the unbreached areas of the dome would still continue its revolution beyond that hand sized hole in it made by Sasuke. Imagine only Sasuke's palm making a hand sized breach through Rotation here without Neji having his own arm held in a block. The X between Naruto and Neji is where Sasuke's wrist is located so imagine his palm inside a hole made by chidori.

Would that hand sized hole halt the Rotation full stop , or would the unpierced areas of spinning Chakra that are already in motion simply revolve beyond the hole made by Sasuke? I used the spinning Sand dome analogy since it best represents the size of the hole made by Sasuke in canon and it shows the contrasting difference between stationary Sand dome compared to Spinning Chakra dome.

-Ur question about whether Neji's Chakra expulsion is as strong as Gaara's sand is irrelevant , because the sand basically just stood there , unlike the spinning Chakra expulsion and its already stated to be stronger in the Chunin exam.

-Yes its possible that an explosion would also happen as Kaiten follows the same repelling blast back effects of a spinning top when u make something touch it.

Your spinning sand analogy is flawed simply because it's already canonical fact that Rotation is on par with Gaara's Sand when it comes to defensive power. So there's no reason to bring up spinning sand. What happened to Gaara is exactly what'll happen when Sasuke pierces through Rotation.

KEKKEI GENKAI; Taijutsu: Hakkeshou Kaiten (Titanic Revolution* of the Eight Trigrams Palm)
User: Hyuuga Neji
Defensive; Close range; Rank: none

Main text

A taijutsu where one releases a large amount of chakra from their body's chakra openings to catch the blows from an enemy's attacks, while making one's body spin to repel them. A secret transmitted by oral tradition within the Hyuuga's Main House, though Hyuuga Neji came up with it own his own, despite him being from the Branch House. It stands in the same league as Gaara's Sand as an ultimate protection, and was even called "the other Absolute Defense". This is the high grade taijutsu that made Neji's prodigious talent known during the Chuunin exam.

Caption

-An application of Juuken, the other "Absolute Defense"!!

Picture comment

-The Byakugan's near-360° field of vision perceives the enemy's attack, and here comes the Kaiten...!!
*"Kaiten" means "spinning" or "revolution". Except the author swapped the "ten" Kanji for another, changing the meaning to "monumental task". Taken separately, the words could be translated as "Heavenly Spin". So I translated the thing as "Titanic Revolution" to somehow squeeze in all those meanings, as the "monumental" and "godly" meanings are both carried in the word "titan".

So them being in the same league means that the unpierced area of spinning Chakra would stop spinning?

What unpierced area? When Sasuke pierced Gaara's Sand it hit him directly. When Sasuke pierces Rotation it'll hit and pierce Neji directly and he'll stop spinning just how a top would stop spinning if you hit it's body, or just how a revolving door would stop if you put a pole through it.

Say that the small hole in Neji's Kaiten slightly above his elevated arm is the hole Sasuke's Chidori pierces. Just to give an example.

It pierces and lets say Sasuke's wrist makes it through which it will before getting to Neji . What happends to the rest of that Chakra?

Neji wins this.
Rotation could deal with chidori and his taijutsu is superior to Sasuke's who had just copied Lee's normal moves and speed which never worked against Neji.

If Neji takes a hit he stops spinning and the chakra fades. If he isn't hit for whatever reason then either he's pushed away or Rotation can't continue due to Chidori being in the way and it halts.. However there is no possible scenario where Sasuke pierces Rotation and fails to hit Neji as Neji remains in one spot while rotating.

Wouldn't the rotation simply cease due to Chidori disrupting the jutsu in general? Once a jutsu's sync/harmony is broken, it all collapses. Initially this was what happened every time Sasuke used Chidori against Gaara, Gaara had to keep reapplying the severed sand arm.

Or with Naruto.

I'm sure there are other examples, of when a technique is distorted through chakra it fails (Gentle Fist vs Kisame's water dome perhaps is another).

So I think if rotation was pierced by Chidori, the jutsu would just cease tbh.

That's another possibility I was thinking of, though it could be argued against simply because Gaara's Sand and Rotation work in different ways. Though when you poke a spinning top with enough force it stops spinning. So the same could apply to Rotation.

Meh. What I do know is that if Neji himself is hit Rotation ends.

I just think it'd make sense that if rotation is disrupted the jutsu would cease. But whatever, I hate arguing Hyuga shit tbh lmfao.

I get that if Neji himself takes a hit the Rotation stops , but if a hand sized hole is placed into the Rotation itself , with that breach only encompassing that portion alone , would the unpierced Chakra stop spinning before Sasuke's whole arm makes it to Neji?

Lets imagine that Neji doesn't have his arm elevated in this scan below and use it to deduce distance of Sasuke's arm in relation to Neji. Sasuke pierces Kaiten at the X and his palm is located at that general area.
You must be registered for see images

Now he pierces and theres a hole , milliseconds later his wrist is now located where the X is located , still not in contact with Neji. Does the unpierced area of Chakra still continue to revolve beyond the hole?
