Kakuzu's main notable offense is a Katon+Futon elemental combo, which is perfect as it generates even more heat to prepare Kirin. He has Raiton jutsu to deal with Doton: Domu an the Sharingan to actually know that it's Earth Style. Karin didn't heal Sasuke until after Danzo's Izanagi ran out too. Kakuzu is going to put up a fight mainly because he can probably send his arms underground to attack Sasuke from under Susano'o, but when he's out of tricks, he's out of tricks. Especially since he doesn't have much leisure time to make a plan.
