i think you're right and that that is the whole point of sage mode so that he can at least hold his ground agaisnt sasuke

but at the same time its not just 3 tomoe sharingan (which tobi/madara used to control full fledged kurama) its the eternal mangyeko sharingan.. which i think can make quite a difference

They did that to a freed nine tails, Tobi released Kushina's seal before he did it. 1st Bee said the chakra Naruto took from Kurama was his forever when he was helping Naruto fight Kurama. 2nd Kurama's chakra is different from before, before it was full of hatred but now it's full of lifeforce (Yamato stated). Tobi was able to control a prefect Jinchuuriki but couldn't control Naruto or Bee and Kabuto never made Itachi use genjutsu (Tsukuyomi) on Naruto or Bee (broke out of regular genjutsu). Not all Uchihas can do the same thing.

I would expect that sauske can indeed supress kurama, but that naruto will still have access to the chakra he took off kurama when they fought behinds the Falls of Truth. That sounds about fair, which is what PLOT will demand.

Sasuke was able to suppress a small amount of its chakra and force it back behind the seal. Now that there is a new, much more open seal, that doesn't seem doable now.

And here's one thing no one has pointed out: Tobi. Tobi has controlled Kurama before, so if he could have really suppress its chakra with Naruto's new seal, he would have already. :shrug:
