Considering that it's the same KCM Naruto who tripped over a root, got bested by Nagato, couldn't land any hit on Itachi together with Bee, and even in BM with Kakashi and Gai's aid could barely elude Obito, and this latest Sasuke incident. These are facts as well. This ONE instant is outweighed by 5 to 1 in this regard. But hey, whatever floats your funny boat. Why count these, right?

Naruto was simply trying out different speeds. It's not like he's had this mode all along. It's like sasuke with Ameterasu. Did he instantly go, well here's some flames, and I think I'll shape it. No! It took him two fights to learn how to use his enton. Bee and Raikage. Like Trolling Sage said, just because you have a sports car, doesn't mean you floor it all the time. To expand on that analogy, just because you get a new sports car, that doesn't mean you instantly know everything about it. You give it a test run so you can get the gist of it and you slowly increase the speed of it in order to see your maximum.
