It obvious that sasuke is superior in all areas of combat and intelligence but the only thing he lacks is the ability to attract and befriend others which makes naruto a foe its not just him but an army of monster ninjas and beast.... so its up to you to decide if raw talent is worth more than raw hope.

You forgot that Sasuke said that he not only will protect Konoha but whole ninja world. He had intel, power, literally everything to be successful protector yet he failed.
