No that is the truth, that is the whole message of the Naruto series. It was that moment that naruto became the ninja we know today.
Iruka reached out to naruto, revealed they werent so different, and bonded with him, becoming his friend
If iruka wasnt there for him and rejected naruto hed do exactly as i stated and guess what...
Gaara is the perfect example of this, Yashamaru is gaaras iruka. Gaara was sorta ok where he was at, being rejected, he hated it and felt alone, and he was sad, but he still had his uncle who he knew cared about him. And his mom. But then all at once he lost them both, Yashamaru tried to kill him and he convinced gaara that he was never loved by his mom. (Even tho we all know he did and it was a mission) and he became a murderous psychopath that kills so that he feels satisfied and that shukaku is satisfied. But thats the Foil. Thats the key turning point of gaaras character. What brought him back to his senses? Naruto reached out to gaara, revealed they werent so different, and bonded with him, becoming his friend.
This concept has been idiotically reduced to the simpleminded bandwagon known as Talk-no-Jutsu.....
