I wouldn't say Naruto is smarter, just more used to battling in different perspectives other than his own.
His entire life, he's always had someone with him to help,guide or follow during battle so he can't always think for himself. Unlike sasuke who thinks and acts on his own, but at the same time knows when to use people to his advantage. I'd say they are both equal, as shown in recent chapters, Naruto is willing to follow people's orders and Sasuke is willing to work with others.

Sasuke sometimes lets his emotions take over him hindering his ability to think of a strategy, he jumps recklessly into battle without comprehending the situation and always get himself almost killed.. like when he fought Itachi, attacked the Kage summit, and Madara..​

I agree with this, ppl wanna act like Naruto is following Sasuke because he is smartest but forget to mention that Naruto can't see limbo mascara, of course the one that can actually see the clone should come up with a strategy to counter attack it. I'm pretty sure Naruto would be able to formulate a strategy as well if he could actually see the clone himself.

I disagree coz naruto gets more help from allies than sasuke in fights. For example if Itachi did not formulate a plan to beat nagato's planetary devastation, naruto and killer b would might be dead. During this fight with madara he still gets tactical aid from the bijuu like the ichibi, who told him to use a sealing technique

Meh, they both have their dumb and smart moments. I just believe Sasuke has more battle smarts; Jiraiya noted that Genjutsu required a high level of intellect, and Sasuke utilizes high level Genjutsu on a regular basis. Not to mention his genius strategy versus Deidara and Danzo.
