Idk, the rinnegan is really repetitive right now as both of the main antagonists have it. Also it would take sasuke a long time to master all the techs that the rinnegan has to offer. Im pretty sure its something else and the reason people think its the rinnegan is because they've seen madara get it and so are now expecting sasuke to get it as well.
