Interestingly enough, now Sasuke CAN gain more control over Sage Mode thanks to the Senju DNA.

Uchiha DNA + Senju DNA = Chakra Reserves Boost (spiritual energy + physical energy = Stamina). More chakra = more control.

That is a misunderstanding. Madara got the DNA, that's why he was able to awake the Rinnegan.
