Sasuke Gets Spin-Off Manga Series

Sasuke Uchiha, the rival of Naruto, is getting his own spin-off manga series starting October 3, 2014 in Shuiesha’s Saikyo Jump magazine. It will be titled Uchiha Sasuke no Sharingan Den (Sasuke Uchiha’s Sharingan Legend) and will show a more humorous side to the normally cool and aloof Uchiha. The manga will be created by Kenji Taira and will include chibi characters similar to his other work, Rock Lee’s Springtime of Youth, which concluded earlier this year.


Rock Lee’s Springtime of Youth debuted in Saikyo Jump in the December of 2010 and got it’s own 51-episode anime series titled Naruto Spin-Off: Rock Lee & His Ninja Pals in April 2012. It’s unclear if the same treatment will be given to Sasuke Uchiha’s Sharingan Legend, but if anything surfaces, we hope to let you know right here on Saiyan Island!

Yeah this won't work.

I mean like the author is good from his Rock Lee work but Sasuke is NOT a funny character even as the straight man for a punchline. This series will either change his personality completely or have Suigetsu and Karin basically be the main characters.

Springtime of Youth was an amazing comedy manga. I feel like it had more life in it or the author should go on to make a new comedy manga in the same format and art style, unrelated to Naruto.

The Chapter about Sasuke and itachi losing their memories in the rock lee spin off series, was the best chapter they've ever shown, Sasuke would be great the for a new series with him as the main character, not specifically with chibi, but it still gonna be good

Oh a Taka spin-off is the best idea for a Naruto spinoff ever, it just shouldn't be a comedy.

And yeah but the Sasuke episodes are handled with the usual Rock Le.e sense of humour. Without abstract humour there'd be nothing there. A comedy show of 'straight mans' gets old soooo quickly

Sasuke,Suigetsu,Karin and juggo always have good comedy, we don't get much of them in the regular show, so its good that they'll be in it, plus Taka will still probably be Main characters, but Sasuke will be the Main one
