I agree if they fought in Shipuuden Neji will sure be defeated unless by plot no juts, but since the scenario is way back in Chuunin exam Sasuke would loose no doubt.

1. Neji saw how Sasuke fight twice one in the forest of death second was with that partner of Kabuto that absorbs chakra so he has general idea of his fighting styles / jutsus.
2. Sasuke on the other hand was quite the opposite he never saw Neji fight & had no clue of his fighting style / jutsus.
3. Both of them preferred close combat back then & fighting in close combat w/ a Hyuuga w/out any knowledge of Jyuuken will be accommodating death.
4. Sasuke got wasted by sound 4 w/out any difficulty.
5. While Neji beat on of the sound 4 - Kidoumaru in strongest form.

um no, back then neji would sht on sasuke. Um did you guys forget there is a reason why they say the hyuga are the strongest in the leaf? not the uchiha, the hyuga. Neji would wipe the floor with sasuke back in the chunn exams. naruto only beat neji cuz of plot. But if lee cant even beat neji, what the hell makes you think back then sasuke can?? when last time I checked, lee tore sasuke up, AND lee had his weights on...

The Uchiha were exterminated at any point the Hyuuga were claimed to be the strongest in the Leaf. The Uchiha were the strongest clan, along with the Senju.

OT: Neji should be able counter Lee's weightless speed, which is Sasuke's equivalent. Chidori may or may not be a finisher though Neji will be able to counter as he can keep up with his speed though Sasuke can predict counters. It's an interesting matchup but I'll give it to Neji based on experience.
