Im so tired of people that keep saying that "sasuke got all his powers handed to him", first ill start off with the curse mark, first of all, most people who get the curse mark, died, only a couple of people survive the curse mark orchimaru had thousands of subjects that died from it, and sasuke was lucky enough to even stay alive, let-alone control it, its been stated so many times in the manga that sasuke is genius, it even shows, orchimaru gave sasuke the power so sooner or later, orchimaru can maniuplate him and control him, the curse mark changes your state of mind, orchimaru even said, during the time when they were in the forest of death and he bit sasuke, he said
"Sasuke will come looking for me,for power", orchimaru planned it from the begging thought that he can out-smart sasuke and manipulate him, into letting him take over his body, but look what happen, sasuke knew that orchimaru wanted his body the whole time and used that to his own advantage, orchimaru gave him new power, trained him with diffrent test-subjects a couple of times and orchimaru thought that he had sasuke under his control, but instead sasuke got a chance and double crossed him before Orchimaru could do the same, so now look at the situation, Not gonna sugar-code anything, sasuke got a power boost by out-smarting orchimaru, Believe or not but thats basically the way it happen.
Now for itachi's eyes, itachi did play a big role in sasuke getting his new power (Ems only) but that was not handed to him, itachi didint simply just give sasuke the power, first things first i wanna clarify something that people tend to get mixed up with about how sasuke got susanoo and amaterastu, first off Sasuke did not fuse eyes with itachi until he had that confrontation with naruto,because he overused his eyes when he was , fighting danzo, the raikaige and garra,temari and kankaro and Mizukage, and then he asked tobi to fuse his eyes with itachi and then got Ems and got amteratsu blades and etc but he learned regular amaterastu and susanoo on his own.
Also with ems, like i said before that also wasint handed to him, yes itachi was sick, and yes he let sasuke win the fight, but it was all by luck and opportunity, if he would've never went to itachi in the first place, they would've never fought, that was a sighn of bravery and took chance, he knew itachi was still stronger then him but he still went because he wanted to get his "Revenge", and once itachi was dead and he overused his eyes, in the five kage summit, he took the opportunity to fuse his eyes with itachi, it was not handed to him at all, part of it was luck and part of it was opportunity's.
the only thing i could say that was handed to him was the Sage powers but he was the reincarnation of indra, so it was inevitable, just like in naruto's case, basically sometimes its not always about working hard and busting your ass of all the time, its okay to out-smart things and find the easy way out, just like in a real-life sense, some people work their ass off everyday and come home very late in the night and still dont make that much money and on the other hand some people became rich billionares, by not even doing that much, they could've been born rich or were very talented at something and pursued the dream and became very succesful, and some times like in naruto's case, you can work your ass off and also become very succesful, everybody diffrent some people use their brains and find the easy way of stuff and get lucky and sometimes people have to work hard and then become succesful.
