Exactly, although everything else he posted was correct, Itachi's eyes were done for at the point, so his reaction to Sasuke breaking was in fact him reacting to the pain of overusing his MS

Itachi automatically gets pain after over usng Tsuki and Itachi want Sasuke to belive that Sasuke did it on his own so Itachi is acting like that...

While I do agree that Tsukuyomi automatically causes pain, it's Itachi's widened eyes that I was mostly referring too. Like I said, I believe Itachi was letting Sasuke break out, but Sasuke did surprise Itachi by how quickly he broke out of Itachi's "weakened" Tsukuyomi.

And yes, that Illusion tobi is referring too was Itachi's alter-ego.

What BS am I reading in this thread? Itachi confirmed it Chapters back that ONLY Sasuke can break out of his Tsukuyomi. Sasuke was capable enough to do so at that point. He broke free on his own and nearly killed Itachi, which he wasn't expecting. At that point, the fight was OUT of Itachi's hands and he had to pull Susano'o out; a fact he admitted.

Itachi's never before let Sasuke break it. He always used it on him to test his potential and fuel his hate. He wouldn't suddenly change that now just because... Itachi always wanted sasuke to kill him, but he didn't want to always have to go through the trouble of severely injuring him just to get the job done. Clearly the easiest way to guage his power would be to tsukuyomi him; That's why he even told sasuke how to break tsukuyomi(get MS). If Sasuke couldn't break tsukuyomi, he wouldn't even be worth itachi's time because he wouldn't be near ready.

@AGoodBoy Good point and I would like to add something that Itachi's can manipulate time and space, which means he can choose to give whichever sensations to the opponent he wants. And he did feel the repercussions of Tsukuyomi, so this holding back logic is pointless and self-made with zero proof backing it.

While Itachi obviously didn't want to kill him, I think Itachi was taken by surprise at this part. I think his plan was to just torture him and then be like "Next time it will be real" - I don't think Itachi expected Sasuke to be capable enough to break the Jutsu on his own despite himself saying that Sasuke is the only one who can break his Tsukuyomi.

The only reason itachi showed fatigue was because his tsykiyomi was actually broken, but sasuke was given much much more time in the real world to break it.

If the space time control was used, it would have been an instant KO.

Did Sasuke break Tsukuyomi? Yes.

Was Itachi serious when using Tsukuyomi? No.
