You have a point there. It would explain why they said this scroll could change everything. I've seen some recent time travel theories and it makes alot of sense. Not that I like adding time travel to Naruto's story but it is probably the only way to significantly change the outcome of the war. We'll have to be patient and wait.

good theory but....this is not back to the future here....i know it's a manga ....not a sci fi movie.....first you have to look at sasuke's will ...what does he want? simple he wants to know why itachi felt the way he did to comply with the village rather than the clan? To go back and time and ask the Uchiha Clan Ancestor, Sage, and Senju Clan Ancestor stuff..
First, sasuke is not aware of their existence, as it is pure speculation that Tobi Even told him about that
Second, there would be no villages back then, or clans
Third, whatever it is, Suigetsu said that it would "allow us hawks to rule", going back in time and asking questions wouldn't help them rule, unless they go back and ask the sage the weakness of ninjutsu, which would make this plausible

He's not going that far back in time, just far enough before or during the massacre.
